Sevilla away sold out!

I don't like opening this debate as more than just the SC get an allocation
However the old chestnut of someone with 13000 plus will have got them for a mate is bollocks

I know people with less than 10,000 points who have tickets on their cards
The system as I understand it is that members ask the branch for tickets, the branch tell the club how many they want, they get an allocation and then decide who gets the tickets/points. If it looks like being popular, the branch will tell members with enough points to get their own tickets through normal channels.

The OSC ticket system is a hangover from the days when the club struggled to sell tickets, it was easier to send a block of tickets to one person in the days before online and telephone sales and to ensure people from the branch could sit together. The first two conditions don't apply any more and it's easy enough to use Friends & Family to ensure people get tickets together.

But the main problem these days is not demand or distribution but that so many tickets are spoken for before they even go on sale to ordinary fans. Club staff, players, sponsors, corporates, the premium seat holders, who will all get first dibs, and supporters clubs. I bet no more than 50% of the available tickets actually go on sale to ordinary fans.

Chances are they haven't got tickets themselves. That post is very inflammatory when worded the way it is.

There's likely to be a small group within that SC branch who have 13000+ points. Those who have the points and are not going will likely be helping out fellow blues/mates by letting them use their tickets.... in the same way we all have mates (Outside of SC) who have loads of points, who let other people use their card to get tickets. Theres no difference, other than the fact that they are part of a SC. Unfair to tarnish supporters clubs like that.

if that's the case then well and good, but the post was not worded like that, so its not at all inflammatory and as squirty has alluded to their are people with tickets who should not have access to and that is wrong

The lad who posted on here the other day who said he had heard the club are keeping 900 tickets back might not have been too far out.

A guy in the queue said he had a mate with 11,000 points had booked through Thomas Cook/Thompson (not sure which) and had got confirmation over the weekend that he had a ticket[/QUOTE

That's correct SF. Thomson trip if they only have three quarters of a plane load the club will allocate them more tickets to fill it, so lower points will get on.

No it's not inflammatory at all. The Branch got 5 tickets and decided that the best way to allocate the tickets was to see how many of their members wanted to go and then used the points criteria of those members.
My mate with 11800 had the highest amount of points of those who wanted to go so he got one.

Would be nice if City were up front and told us exactly how many tickets went on sale and how many were held back for clubs, staff, corporate etc.
Surely someone must have a mole inside.

Had mine 35 years and have no trouble with fans who have built up points above mine but Thomas Cook getting tickets for people below my 12100 is a bit shit really.

I will be there though, great city Seville so cant miss it,I always get in a ground and this will be no different!

Come on, you can't surely believe that?

Supporters club gets 10% of the allocation.
Sponsors and corporate will receive around 5%.
I know someone who works for the club, who doesn't receive free tickets.
I know someone who plays for the club, they receive free tickets, but it's a demand basis rather than a given allocation. I'd guess that there are no more than 20 fans who've received free tickets to an average away game - in Europe I doubt any player will take them, and if they do they would be in the posh seats they have to offer us.
I'd reckon this game will have around 80-85% general sale - but most people will be getting tickets off their mates who hadn't booked flights.

I don't have a problem with the supporters clubs because they helped me get up to the level where I can buy my own tickets.

I think a better way of doing it would be a united/England type 'collect your tickets at the game' for Euro trips. That way people can't buy tickets for their mates (because you need ID to pick them up). They should also let people sign up for tickets, well in advance of receiving the allocation from Seville. Everyone who wants to go should register as soon as the fixture is announced, then they get a reservation number - if they are number 2,999 and they know there is a good chance we'll get 3k tickets, they should go ahead and book their flights, if they are number 5,000 they know it's probably not worth booking travel!
