Seville

Me & Mrs Tot had a great weekend in Seville. We booked ourselves onto a cycling tour on the Saturday morning and the guide had a little stop outside a normal metal shuttered door . He said if you like flamenco this place is the place to come tonight. He said local buskers hangout here at the end of the night ect it’s the best place to see local dancers.. But the problem was I don’t have the slightest interest in dancing ! The torture treatment started , “ can we go later “ zzz. Of course Mrs Tot won , and thank god she did it was amazing.Don’t know the name or anything but what a great experience

So outside it? It was free?

Not chance pal sorry . Hopefully some of the posters who have lived there might be able to help … But really recommend cycle city tours , get to see and learn so much

Milan is great. For about 4 hours.

Like somebody has suggested fly into Bergamo. It's bloody lovely there. Then get a train to Verona. It's fucking amazing there. Then finally get yourself to Lake Como. Especially Varenna, and you'll find yourself going there 4 times a year.

Northern Italy is fucking paradise.

We’ve got something along these lines pencilled in for next summer. Lake Garda, Verona, then either beaches on Italian riviera or Adriatic Sea coast.

We did that 2017 but ended the break in Venice.
Bardolino is the place to stay on the lake , truly beautiful.
Verona is charming and I have said many times before, staying in Venice should be on everybody’s bucket list - easy train connection too.

I am told Lido di Jesilo is a good seaside location too.

I love Venice but I stay in Mestre for cheaper hotels.
Vicenza well worth a visit as well.

Try to remember mate. I’d love to experience some local culture - for free. Cheers.
This clearly isn't the one, cos buskers can't just pitch up and join in, but it is superb. Museo Del Baile Flamenco. It's in the Jewish Quarter. Dance floor downstairs, tiny museum upstairs. I went with Mrs Exeter when City played Seville a few years back. Show lasts about an hour and I won't lie, I thought it was brilliant. Just two dancers, a singer and a guitarist, all of them sensationally good. It's not free though. Cost about 20 Euros I think from memory

We stayed twice near Piazalle Roma just as you cross the Lagoon onto the island.
Lovely and quiet.

We are lucky enough to not worry about budget too much and wanted to sample life at night after the day trippers disappear .

Sitting by the canal , eating and drinking and watching the day to day canal motorway life pass you buy is a memory I will take to the grave with me.

Did help sitting there the 1st time when Mr Balls informed me that KDB had. just slotted in the winner at the theatre of shite.

Day to day life of Venice and the sunsetting in Santorini are two amazing memories.

The kangaroo court of Bluemoon has spoken.

We booked Seville last night.

I can’t fucking wait.

Thanks to everyone who made the effort to post and advise.
You mentioned flamenco. There are some very large venues that do dinner as well. Avoid.
We chose La Casa del Flamenco Auditorio Alcantara which is only a few minutes walk from the Cathedral. The performance takes an hour or so and is held in an old Spanish mansion. We liked it so much we went back. Very authentic.

Cheers pal. This thread is going to be a great tour guide when the weekend arrives.
