sh*t style of football

Re: shit style of football

Imagine headlines tomorrow

Man City involved in "Current European Champions Can Actually Play A Bit" shock.

It's a friendly with half our team missing, they are, at least on paper, the best team in Europe and therefore on paper probably the best team in the world.

Some people need to get a grip.

can anyone tell me what style of football we are playing.
it's not counter attack, where you sit back absorb the opponents attack
and hit them on the break.
it's not attacking football either because we can't string 5 passes together in the
opponents half.
it's not possesion football, nothing knits together, defence, midfield, forward line.
every team we play against is in control of the game and we depend on a piece
of individual brilliance by one player to score.
this is very worrying.
we have an italian manager who you would think can make us defend.
he plays with 4 at the back and 2 or 3 defensive midfielders.
our forwards are totally left out on there own, with not midfield to connect with.
even if it's not his team of players he should still have a style or a method he could
instill into the team till he gets the players he wants.
I think roberto has no master plan, just like hughes, sven, keegan etc.
managers with no vision or style or method. end of rant...................[/

And theres me thinking Bob was back in Italy last night visiting his Father..

With all due respect mate this was our 5th preseason game and you would expect some improvement. We didn't a clue out there tonight and looked so disjointed. Can't wait for tevezto come back so we can see some urgency in our play.

Yeah but it's not like we've regularly played our first team in the games. It's been alot of youth, and people like Jo. We've also not had Silva, Koloarov, Tevez, Boateng, etc,.
For me, these games are more about match fitness more than anything else.

agree on some points , def. need a class CB and a driving MF or i see our opening games a tough ride.I dont know but mancini has a sort of created vibe in the team where most of the guyz feel uncomfortable , i wont be surprised if i see some settled guyz moving.

Lets see how we fare with Dortmund and Valencia.. :)

Re: shit style of football

Yesterday Inter just show us how senior and junior can play together as a team. I don't think their fitness is better than us.

In defence, Again I would call our defend as egg in plastic pack. No pressing just standing, watching and giving all the time of the world for Inter to organise their attack effectively.

In offence, I hope when Silva, Kolarov, new new players arrive, we can pass ball more accurate than that.
Ball passing has been worst since last season, second to none in EPL. That's why we always lose possesion and depend on player pace.

All in all, no team work offensively and defensively.

This forum is officialy shit. Some of the negative people on here are way wayyyy to fickle. I seriously tend to dislike our fan base when i read this shite, we got some gloryhunters now! Its a friendly, last year we had a shite pre-season and look how we started.

What is this picture meant to be showing? It looks like a very well organised team to me

Hard to disagree mate. We lose a couple of pre season games that mean nothing and the vultures are circling. Then you see a thread questioning why Mancini is favourite to be sacked. If Mancini gets the push this season we are in big trouble - for once in our lives we have an unbelievable opportunity but we need to stick together and show the kind of loyalty we used to be famed for.

So you think standing off an attacking player by some 15 yards is good?

I'm sure someone must have mentioned to the players that they can tackle...

That was our problem all last night... we never got close to the player in possession.
