Shakhtar(H) - Post Match Thread

Also think would have been a media bomb in a positive way for City if we miss the pen on purpose or Sterling asking the ref not to give it.

Remember the Di Canio gesture? They still talk about it. Raheem would have picked up tremendous credit for putting his hands up and letting the ref make the call. Pep tried.

I'm pretty sure it would not be Raheem's main objective, but together with an amazing performance, this could have done a lot to finally swing the media around to his side.

Nah. They’d find something else - maybe related to which supermarkets he visits. Pundits would probably have said he should have put the team first & accepted the decision rather than going for “selfish glory” by saying it wasn’t a penalty !!!!!!

Last season, perfectly good goal ruled off-side against dippers - no mention of VAR. This season, Sterling wins dodgy pen - UEFA fast tracking VAR for use this season! YCNMIU
This is so true, we had a few very unfair offsides in that tie but UEFA didn,t give a toss.

UEFA are to blame. The VAR was used in the World Cup to decent success, THEY chose not to use it for CL, even Pep said it post interview.
No way was any player ever going to say it’s not a penalty if it’s given in a CL game.
These journo bell ends need to wake up and get real.
If this was a decision for the Raggy clowns, it would just be swept aside as a poor decision, yet now they’re trying to hang Razza.
Twats.
Yes and now UEFA are going to try and rush VAR through for later stages of THIS years competition. Not a mention of the dodgy off side decisions that went Liverpools way last season. It Raheems fault and all that oil money.

I remember this very well. all the rags players surrounded the referee insisting it went over the line.......not.

To be fair it was a few years ago now in a Champions League game. The bit I think everyone misses with this suggestion is a good chunk of the fans in east/south like to stand and give the Vs to the away end for 90 minutes. No problem with that and they are the ones usually signing but without the away fans next to them you would lose the atmosphere

That is a complete myth. Having that block of away fans next to our singing ends makes no difference at all to the our fans singing - over the last few years in particular.

Operation one end has barely been tried. Having one complete singing end is miles better then having two separate blocks of fans divided and singing different songs. It’s needs to be done over a season and in the big games. Not just the odd the cup game
