Transportation to the colonies is not something we use as a punishment these days. Like birching and ducking witches in the village pond.

Punishing criminals is never cheap. How many more criminals do you want to let off the hook because it costs too much?

British criminals none, Foreign criminals I'd like to see there deportation for certain crimes instead of letting people out early owing to lack of prison spaces.

She was British.

Foreign criminals do their time and are either free to return to society or get deported depending on their offence and their immigration status.

Bottom line is, subject to anything the security service knows that isn’t in the public domain, this airhead broke our law and should do her time in one of our jails.

Was being the operative word she isn't any longer, 12% of our prison population are foreign born it must cost a fortune at a time when we're told we've no money. Successive Governments have decided not to return her citizenship I assume they are supplied with better information that we are.

She's really really really sorry though and who hasn't been hoodwinked into flying half way around the world to join an evil terrorist organisation. They seemed just like one direction except the beards guns and beheadings. Could have been anyone of us.

Of course I am.
I am very happy to say that I believe that she remains in the public eye almost purely because of it.
I do not believe that if she was a teenage white kid who joined a far-right terror group that she would remain in the public eye.
People like Farage and Tommy Two Names know this very well.
If we believe that she has committed crimes, then it is right that she is charged and tried. I have no problem in her receiving a lengthy prison sentence if she is found guilty of a crime.

Correct me if I'm wrong ... But she's back in the news because the ECHR are questioning our decision to revoke her citizenship...

Any opportunity for the left to blame the right and drop the race card that nobody mentioned in there though eh!
 
Interesting comparing attitudes towards foreign nationals who come to the UK and commit crime…where there is often a strong call to “send em back to where they came from”…and towards Begum who as a foreign national committed crimes in another country.

No the reason why its in the news is

She's a teenager
She ran off to Isis
She is still trying to get back in the country
Her skin colour is just that its not like we are avoiding other cases of white teenage terrorist lovers. Its just a poor and often used deflection tactic.

BTW there was a white women who become a Muslim terrorist called the white widow and it was huge news, she did the decent thing and managed to get herself killed though:-)

Some want her locked up in clinky for what will be a brief period of time, others want her to not set foot in country again, argue your preference if you like but don't play the race card.

I said it was an odd bump of the thread, no one has even mentioned for a while.

And @hilts it was not I who bumped it - you made a mistake then and are repeating it now.

Bloody Nora, The White Widow - there's some old chip papers kind of proving my point. There have been a number of white far-right terrorists but non with their own thread years on.

She never leaves the news because she is a brown Muslim. That is my view.
