Joe was and is always the better keeper for me.

Not sure I agree with that tbh, I think Hart & Given were as good as eahc other, and they are both really good. It was obvious that whever was 2nd choice was going to want to leave as they are too good to sit on the bench. I think we've made the right decision starting with Hart, because if he keeps his form & his fitness, he could easily be our keeper for the next 10 - 15 years.

You just answered your own question

He's spit his dummy and instead of manning up and fighting for his place,
he'd rather fuck off using the excuse of keeping his international place.
Load of crap, he wouldn't lose his Ireland place in a million years, even if
he only played half the games. Gone way down in my estimation.

Hart threatened to leave ALL SUMMER, it's ok for him to do that with 15 yrs ahead of him but not for Given when he's at his peak with a few years left? Get a fucking clue you dribbling zombie.

Given could contribute more to this club with no bollocks than another 10 thousand of your pathetic posts. Loser.

Touched a nerve eh sweety

Joe went on loan with no arguements when Shay turned up,proved himself at Birmingham with a gash defense in front of him-hes what, getting on for 10 years younger than Shay?

Shay has thrown in the towell-AFTER 1 GAME ON THE BENCH

Hes now Englands number one and will be for the next decade.

He'll be treated like a god in the East end of Glasgow if he goes there but Celtic must be offering bawbees if even Rangers can outbid them on loan deals. There comes a time when City need to start making money back even if it is on loan deals........

I don't think the oil's running out that quickly, or the asset base will be depleted or devalued anytime soon CP, so I wouldn't worry about that; I don't think our owners are - and it's only the stupid 'administrative' rulings that might (if anything) mean we must pay lip service to things, and I don't know how significant the odd million here there will be for that (Bellers, Superman, Shay, etc)

I wouldn't worry about it.

it's small change for us, and it isn't really vital or important.

enjoy it!

No surprises really, hes not willing to stay and fight for his place and play in the cups. Fair enough I have got to question his commitment to the club though TBH, hes 35 had injury problems (Which cost us dear last season already its not the first time his shoulder has gone)

Hes basically said I`m number one or I am off. Personally I am not amazing happy with that sort of attitude from established pro players, demanding a move when they are told to fight for their place but there you go.

Its his call if he doestn want to be here better to let him go, we are getting rid of moaning players, hes another one that was in having a go to Kaldoon and Cook when Hughes was sacked.

Celtic on loan with a cast iron 24hr recall IF we need him is about the best we can hope for really hopefully they pay all his wages but I doubt it.

The main thing is I dont want him going down to Fulham and helping Hughes and Arsenal out basically giving Wenger a decent keeper very cheap via proxy / semi subsidised by MCFC.

That just wouldnt be acceptable just like Bellamy or Lescott going to Spurs never would have been.

on that midnight train to...Celtic

Hear City will reluctantly help him find a No.1 position elsewhere- with 24 hour recall.

Celtic are his preferred option, albeit not the most lucrative for us.

Fulham trying to muscle in.

Shame - if it was just down to money, think he would be defo staying.

you really must be ITK to have sussed that one, is he REALLY leaving? Wow

By the very defintion of the word, contribution, it requires a person to offer something, whatever its supposed value.

However, you appear to be one of the very rare people in life who offer absolutely nothing, aside from apparent bitterness and frustration.

I only ever see you comment in threads to save people from themselves, but more importantly to you, and for whatever reason, me.

You could have at least had the good grace to ask me to be your muse...

I'm sure your reposte will be witty, cutting and sarcastic. Think deeply now, decide which bits of my diatribe are suitable for your rapier-like wisdom.

Pop off back to the shallow-end, there's a good boy.

Well maybe if we were in the Champions League, Hart, Given, Bellamy would be prepared to miss Champions League or Premiership games, because they'd know there was a very good chance that they'd get games in another high level competition, but the Cups that we are in are no real substitute.

He'd get criticism from some people if he just sat on the bench and took the £££.

personally I don't see the problem with Given wanting first team football. He came to City to be first choice in a specialist position where managers don't rotate, and has been told that his rival gets the nod for this season at the very least. Not many clubs, let alone Premier league clubs, have 2 top quality goalkeepers on their books. Chelsea have Hilario, the rags have Kuzsak,Arsenal have Fabianski, the dippers now have Brad Jones(who is a decent Championship keeper) proffesional pride should mean Given won't want to sit on the bench, he came to City to win trophies, which hopefully we will do, but getting a medal having only played a handful of games just wont feel right to him. i suspect that had Hughes still been in charge then Given would still be first choice and we would be talking about Hart wanting out, would some of the reactions still be the same towards Hart if he had been in the same position.
Loaning Given to Celtic seems a logical choice, especially if we can include a recall clause, as it gives us a safety net. If this deal does happen, then Shay goes with my best wishes

Is this a thread about Joe Hart ? No, thought not. It's you that need to
get a clue, you're a typical internet warrior, shout your mouth off without
thinking. Ask your teacher about self discipline when the holidays are over.

What about that Scandinavian fisherman who came on at arsenal? Nielson his name, looked okay.

-- Fri Aug 20, 2010 8:07 am --

Harry Godwin is right. To be honest I was disappointed in given last year, was at fault for many things when you look back at it. He stands on his line TOO MUCH. I have seen it many times, from Stoke away to manure in the last minute of the CC semi. All he had to do was walk 5 yards and plant a fist on the ball. But didn't and cost us games. Joe hart should be no.1 better goalie, better leader. Newcastle fans warned us about given saying he doesn't command his area, and he is awful at it. And his distribution is bobbins.

Then we still have him as our number 2. Only if Hart gets injured durring a game that Taylor will play and then the next day we give Shay a call. i dont see a problem with this.

If he's at a specialist for his shoulder I doubt anyone will want him as their n#1 keeper. Of course that may be an excuse and he's really talking to a German club.
