On the one hand I’m delighted that García is getting some game time. On the other, I’m not sure that this is the right game for him. Otamendi has many flaws, but this looks much more like a game suited to him.
We’re going to be highly vulnerable from set pieces (even more so than usual). Think I’d have gone with a back three, either moving Walker to the right of the three or dropping him completely. Cancelo seems like the better option to complement Mahrez on that right-hand side. And, after Walker’s disastrous showing the other day, he really doesn’t deserve to play on merit.
I have little confidence that we’ll win the game. We’d either need to dramatically improve defensively (exceedingly unlikely) or retain the ball much better than we have done recently.
