Sheffield United (H) | Post-Match Thread

We are fucking brilliant!!! Never in doubt today. Kev and Serge to come back in a few weeks. Defence is the best I've EVER seen in the PL. Dias, stones, laporte all with 7-12 years left in them. Rodri starting to justify the price (only a few mins today but at a pivotal time). Today proved we grind when it matters. Pep has gone from looking 100 years old in November to the Pep we know and love with energy and the twinkle in the eye during interviews. I was a doubter, I hold my hands up. I was so fucking wrong its incredible! I truly think we're on the cusp of something truly truly special here blues.... COME ON CTID!!!!

Solid defence, 3 points and another clean sheet.

Also the chance to give several players the chance of a good rest.

Good to see Laporte and Walker get a solid 90 minutes.

We have won 12 games in a row in all compets, a club record, without Kompany, Silva and Aguero, with covid and injury problems, and with our forwards not in their best form currently. Amaizing! Hopefully a sinn we can do well without some of our biggest legends.

Ferna had a decent game but Rodri is more composed, reliable and quicker on the pass, we have a better rhythm in our play with Rodri. It's great though that Ferna can still contribute at 35 and help us keep the team fresh.

The best part is that Pep made 5 changes from the game vs WBA, despite KDB and Aguero and Ake being unavailable, and we still won. At the same time United and Liverpool barely rotate. Even if Liverpool manage to string several wins in a row, their current efforts to turn things around will probably cost them come April and May.

Having just seen the head injury sustained by our bright young star, I cannot understand why Foden was not immediately replaced as a precaution. He has to miss the Burnley game surely.

That write-up really dramatises a routine collision. It wasn't "scary" watching it and the cut on Foden's face wasn't "scary". I think football in this country has some improving to do on things like concussion, but this was about as routine as it gets.

Only just noticed this on the clubs post, but Jesus gets the goal and turns to Foden, and Torres celebrates on his own. Foden has to call "Ferran" to say well done but as soon as thats done he's outta there and cannot see much conversation between him and Jesus. This is just one bit of footage I might add. Would like to see Jesus embracing the new lad straight away.

Jesus assists Torres, then Jesus walks in opposite direction..

Hmm... I'm not sure what the reason is that you're trying to make out there's an issue.

For the first goal, Torres does go over but there's a big group between the players. How do you know that Jesus and Torres do not recognise thanks at some point in the game or in the changing rooms?

As for your second example, you seem to forget that Jesus cut a VERY frustrated figure at a time he was going through the biggest goal drought of his career.

He's unhappy, at that point, that he's not the one scoring.

That's a striker thing.
