Sheffield United (N) | FA Cup SF | Post-Match Thread

Very comfortable in the end and some legs rested. Sheffield were very limited, defend deep and hit the long ball. Ortega very decent game, especially his passing. Akanje, Bernardo and Mahrez quality. I was one of the ones amongst many saying Mahrez should be subbed then he goes and does that lol.
Laporte, played very well ..composed, good positioning, made right choices with the ball and even good 1 v 1 very useful asset for us

I've no problems match-wise!

But, as I suspect from other posts, and I know myself after the last time we played them there, the Rag lowlife gathered all the way along the route back to Wembley Park, picking off smaller groups of Blues!

We walked up to the Green Man, and by the time we got back to Wembley Park, you could feel the remnants of what had happened.

Most City fans nowadays travel in mini buses, small coaches, so I expect, if we play the Rags, a similar scenario.

Anyway, all the best Blues, and what an end to the season! Fantastic!
It will never be like that again. Their tickets were available to anyone. Ours sold out to season ticket holders. Thousands of city fans congregated at the green man and even more on the roundabout and entered and left the stadium by that route. Wembley way itself was 90% United fans for that reason, which was where there were reports of bullying. City’s firm even ballsed the whole thing up by not even getting to Wembley way because they didn’t know their way about.

3 months later we played them in the charity shield and the situation was reversed. city’s lads marched up Wembley way unopposed and there were no problems for anyone.

I hate hearing blues with an inferiority complex There would be absolutely nothing whatsoever to be frightened of in a cup final. It would most likely be City’s day on and off the field.

I don't fear them DD, I've grown up with them, and know how they operate.

Good to know it was different in the Charity Shield.

It's our year this!

Yet Sam Twaterface on TV made a big point about all the blades fans making a big effort to get to wembley & said absolutely fuck all about the city fans?
& I bet some of our fans that made the trip to Munich and had all that trouble getting home still made the trip there as well. Utter bellend of a commentator.

Talking to Sheff supporters after the game they expected to lose, and were very complimentary about us.
They were complaining, as we were, about the staged ticket sales which meant groups of them at different loyalty levels couldn’t sit together.
They said they could only keep one of the loanees not both next year, due to PL rules, and all felt they should buy Doyle and loan McAtee given the choice.
