Think there's a lot of truth in that. And kids can draw people back to attending live who have maybe dropped off going a bit. So kid friendly very importantGot chatting to the guy in front of me. He had no interest in football, supports no one but his lad is City mad so he takes him to as many games as poss.
Its akin to the junior blues movement in the 70s. Our success will safe guard our attendances for years to come
Appreciate the sentiments but there will be two 68 Yr olds and a 5 year old amongst us.It will never be like that again. Their tickets were available to anyone. Ours sold out to season ticket holders. Thousands of city fans congregated at the green man and even more on the roundabout and entered and left the stadium by that route. Wembley way itself was 90% United fans for that reason, which was where there were reports of bullying. City’s firm even ballsed the whole thing up by not even getting to Wembley way because they didn’t know their way about.
3 months later we played them in the charity shield and the situation was reversed. city’s lads marched up Wembley way unopposed and there were no problems for anyone.
I hate hearing blues with an inferiority complex There would be absolutely nothing whatsoever to be frightened of in a cup final. It would most likely be City’s day on and off the field.
I know people often complain about the atmosphere when there are more and more families coming but, ultimately, youth interest and attendance is the most important thing for the club.Think there's a lot of truth in that. I thought that. The BBC didn’t seem to notice with their report suggesting there were gaps everywhere. Very poor turnout from Sheffield United considering they’ve not been to Wembley since 2009 or in a Wembley semi in living memory, and considering they’re from a big city. The crowd was interesting, lead to believe Sheff U had sold loads and we struggled to shift em.
Their end was empty, loads of gaps, empty sections yet ours seem to be full and seats sold in all sections!
Yep and 7 or 8 year old soon grow into raucous 16 year oldsI know people often complain about the atmosphere when there are more and more families coming but, ultimately, youth interest and attendance is the most important thing for the club.
If you use the youth fans, you literally lose the future.
Something we should all be mindful of more generally in our daily lives, as well, as it applies far beyond football.
I know 2 blokes personally who, although blue, were never match goers but both now have season cards with their kidsThink there's a lot of truth in that. And kids can draw people back to attending live who have maybe dropped off going a bit. So kid friendly very important
But you can only have loads of families if there are loads of spare tickets, which means playing semi-finals at Wembley. The obvious neutral ground yesterday was Elland Road where the capacity is a tad under 38,000.Great to see so many families at the game yesterday.
This for me is along with our team is where we have made the biggest strides forward.
I went by coach from the Etihad..set off at 7.15 and was at Wembley by 12.40..gave me a chance to watch the under 18s but can't understand why coaches went so early.I know what you mean but.
I moan every day about Wembley until the day of the game.Yet in most games I have had a great day out.
Even the underground after the match is well organised if you show a little bit of patience and common sense.
Walked through these knobs back to the car, plenty of them goading and looking at us, me, my partner, 8 year old step son, 75 and 74 year old parents. One saying city fans are all wankers, utter gucking shithouse.Blades on Wembley Way singing 'Just like Sheffield your city is red'......I don't fuckin think so, lol.
