As many have noticed, Sheffield United have just been losing matches, by a one goal margin. They could just hold us to a draw (it's not beyond the bounds of possibility, shit occurs) or — horrors!just win it.
I fully expect us to win. As I fully expected us to win against Cheltenham Town. For twenty minutes, I was shitting bricks.
Whatever happens, let's not have an abusive meltdown on here, eh? Many miles to go…
P.S. in the poll above, I have predicted “lose”. On the reverse jinx principle, which has been working beautifully in recent weeks.

Your post started all sensible and logical but sorry you lose all your credibility when you then mention jinx to be some sort of principle. Irony at its best!

No arrogance from the team today, I'm hoping. Respect the Blades, don't fear them. A solid, professional 2-0/3-0 win.
I don’t think City will be fearing SU in any shape or form, they need to respect them though, put a shift in and show the same intensity as they would for a top team... Today and the Burnley game are must wins for us, before we step foot in the dippers place...

what their game vs utd showed us is that they will fight for every ball, they are aggressive and have pace all over the pitch....

I expect a battle with lots of possession to us but them fighting for everything, throwing bodies in the way of shots and their midfield and defenders running through walls to try and stop us....they maybe bottom and we are clearly the better footballing team but if you underestimate a team that fight like they do then you can come unstuck......I expect them to try and get lots of crosses into our box so we have to be careful with our possession today.

Another 3 points is all that matters today. 4 points clear will really send a message.

Is this match still on?
BBC seem oblivious to the fact the league leaders are playing the team who pulled off the most notable result of the week possibly the whole season.
Just watched BBC Football Focus or whatever it’s called and can confirm neither the league leaders, nor the Blades, nor Noddy’s lot played last week. Liverpool, by way of contrast, catapulted themselves back into the mix with a splendid win, of which we were privileged to see highlights.

I just think we have 8 games in the next month with some big games & no player can play every game. Pep will look to give all the squad so many minutes. Sheffield Utd is probably one of those games where Dias could be rested.
Disagree , Sheff Utd main danger is their aerial threat and Dias will be vital if we want a clean sheet , same goes for the Burnley game next week , we can rest him for the cup games , he's only 23 his fitness levels shouldnt be an issue at that age. Keeping the Stones / Dias partnership together for as many games as possible has proven the corner stone of our recent run.

This is not the game to make too many changes especially at the back. The blades are in a false league position to me, their games are usually tight and they rarely get battered.

They will be defensively well organised and will defend deep but will break with speed and purpose. The game at BL was tight and i expect the same here, especially given their confidence will be high after the result mid-week.

We need to be on it from the start... If anything their result in mid-week might have helped us stay focused and made us realise we can't be too casual against this lot or we will be punished.

We're halfway through the season and people are on about resting players. They're not pampered pets, they're professional footballers who can keep playing game on game if training and rest days are adjusted accordingly to suit.

It's rumoured that Brian Clough once had Forest players running through nettles naked to toughen them up. If we don't get 3 points today then Pep should have them running bollock naked by the Medlock at Daisy Nook tomorrow morning. : )

Just seen the Paul and Michael Lake feature, it will just our look if the latter scores a worldy.

All but 16 people are forgetting one important fact. We are City. Top of the league versus bottom of the league with a long streak just ripe for the bursting. Something rather familiar, nay "Typical".

We've had Gundogan, Bernardo, Cancelo, Foden and Sterling score from outside the box very recently. A low-block shouldn't worry us much.

They have lost 16 times but 11 of them have been by 1 goal. That’s a little bit unlucky really. They are not a good team by PL standards but equally they are nowhere near as bad as the table suggests. It could be one of those 0-0 at HT games then hopefully get a goal or two in the second half. But if we get an early goal, that’s where you’d like to think we can get a quick fire 2nd and end it. It’s really on us to be proactive and aggressive from the first whistle. No complacency or expectancy. We have to go out an earn it.
