Can't really see anything wrong with that article to be honest.

"Last seasons horror tackle" - well that's bollocks for a starter!

It doesn't say "horror tackle" on the version I just read (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/nov/16/nigel-de-jong-hatem-ben-arfa" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011 ... m-ben-arfa</a>), but not sure if they've changed it since the OP posted. If they did use that term then it was unnecessarily sensationalist.
Ha! Taylor changed it half way through the day after a load of blues questioned some of his language.

I'll see you before the game on Saturday and we can discuss in person ?
Not going to Swansea then?

I'll take that as a no then !

Truth be told PB I have read nothing into the article. The build up to this fixture was always going to reference the Arfa incident as this was a flashpoint in a shocking game.

My opinion is that is was a poor tackle. If this challenge was made on a city player or me when I played I would not have been pleased. You think this was a fair tackle; fair enough.

As for trawling my posts and calling me a rag - Why ? I can only attribure this to the fact that I have disagreed with you.

Was it?
I haven't given that incident a 2nd thought in the weeks before this match, and neither have to two Newcastle fans i drink wiith. I can't see any posts on the forum that reference the tackle and there's plenty of NUFC fans on at the moment.
Your opinion counts for nowt really considering the ref (5 yards away at the time) saw nothing malicious or illegal in the challenge.

From this thread it would seem the article has had the desired effect and stirred up a bit of a row.

So whatever decision a referee makes rightly or wrongly my opinion counts for 'Nowt' as you put it ? What an odd comment.

I work in newcastle and it's all they have been able to talk about - funny that.

I did not post any of the comments johnmc said but believe him. Perhaps SWP's back can explain how I have been 'busted'. I have had issue with city's support in the last 4/5 years because it has been poor compared to years before. How does this mean I am a rag ?

As always on BM the clique stills exists where certain posters revel in having a go at other posters and allowed to get away with it.
