Shocking Journalism

You know, it wouldn't have hurt the guy to say "City fans may feel their excellent performance in terms of a low number of injuries contributed to them winning the title" rather than "United fans ..... blah, blah, blah". Maybe a pat on the back for the effectiveness of the support team.

But no, so it's his own fault if he gets criticised for his conclusions, even if the analysis itself is interesting enough.

A massive well done to our medical team me thinks, for keeping the players fit and ready!

So the reason we won the League was Utd's Injuries!! <a class="postlink" href="http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2012/05/29/manchester-city-top-the-injury-league-with-manchester-united-bottom/#dsq-content" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2012/05/ ... sq-content</a>
This is NOT the reason we won the PL but it is a reason. We won because we had better playersand a better team than United and, because of the investment in infrastructure, notably players and medical backup, we were able to rotate the players and get those players in form on the field when most needed. Ours is a more effective and efficient clib than our rivals.

This is certainly a significant factor but we were also extremely fortunate. And we cannot rely on such fortune again.
IMO our squad would have been able to ably deal with an absence or two but not a 'crisis' and it's rare - no matter how well-prepared or rotated a squad is - for a club not to encounter a crisis at some point over a period of say two years.

In short, we're due one so let's bring some further quality in.

Whisky-bollocks has had 25 years to build his club, squad, operation etc. If he can't manage when he gets a spate of injuries, then maybe he isn't as good a manager as he is given credit for. He might get the best out of shit players but there is more to being a great manager than that. He is over the hill and finished.
We won the league because we are the best side in the division. Every team that has won the league has been the best team that year.
