Shooting at Mandalay Bay Resort (Las Vegas)

Has anyone explained why it took the police an hour from when they were outside his room to when they broke in? According to the published timeline they got to the room at 10:20 and blew open the door at 11:20.
Yes, the Sheriff did. He’d stopped shooting Bt then and barricaded himself in. The police monitored the door and what was happening whilst evacuating that floor and above and below before breaching.

Nightmare scenario for them. One entry point, they would have needed to evacuate in case he had homemade bombs, C4, who knows what this cock might have gotten hold of. I think an hour is pretty decent all things considered.

Surprised there's been no real mean mention of the glass that would have fallen from the smashed windows as he was about to start shooting. I haven't read anything at all about anybody who walked by at the time or whatever. I know it wouldn't have prevented anything but i just found it odd that it there's very little reference to it.

Could it have fallen on a flat roof, and so not be noticeable?
Or been taped so it didn't fall.

Looking at a plan view of it, I'd say it would have landed on the roof of the podium area upon which the towers were built so unlikely to have been noticed.

Makes sense. I guess if he was still shooting they would have had to risk shooting their way in earlier.

A quick point on the glazing....at that height it should have been toughened/laminated curtain walling system.
Not easy at all to bash through with a hammer, which is what we have been told?
Possibly he blew them through with a specialist bullet round?....just speculation.

Fair enough. Hadn't thought about that.

19 assault rifles and 200 bullet holes in the lobby walls, already fired at a hotel staff member who was shot in the leg?

I'm not a SWAT expert but I think that might have played a part in the delay.

Either that or they used the stairs and were a bit fat so needed a breather.

Other than that no idea.
