Shooting in Brussels | 2 Swedish fans killed, suspect confirmed dead

There is an area of Brussels called Molenbeek (also known as little Manchester) that’s a fertile recruitment ground for Islamic terrorists.

Is it just a problem with Europeans so they attack locally or do they have a specific issue with the Belgians? I think the Paris attackers came from Molenbeek too

Brussels is the worst city I've been to in the world. Crawling with pond life filth. Very unsafe place.

Hopefully the Police do the honourable thing and decapitate the fucker once it's caught.

My late mum and dad went to Brussels for their honeymoon in 1956 (was a cheap holiday but abroad). I was going to visit Brussels and Bruges but what’s happened and the posts on here have definitely put me off, didn’t know it was this bad.

Two Swedes were murdered. Having watched a few of their games, most fans are in yellow and blue so I daresay there were distinct.

A reasonably neutral country too. Stockholm is great.

I've just seen a report on this. He was supposedly on a bus where he was recognised and confronted by passengers. The driver stopped the bus and he ran off down a street where police cornered and shot him. It's most odd this. He's supposed to have had the gun on him. Why didn't he shoot people on the bus? It was an assault rifle, how does he walk onto a bus with that? He was zooming around the city on a bike. Why did he have to catch a bus? Odd.

Met a good few Swedes whilst on a lads holiday in Rhodes Town, brilliant company and so friendly, big group of them were in our hotel with a couple who had just got married. They were only young (compared to us lot) but so well behaved and polite, an absolute credit to their upbringing and country. This is so sad, I despair sometimes, the perpetrators are animals, I’d honestly eliminate anyone who is a member of a Terrorist Organisation, it’s war and we should get tough.

Who knows what a mad man is thinking. Maybe by the time he got on the bus the adrenaline had wore off and he was terrified, he likely tossed his gun by that point as well.

None of it makes much sense. I've seen the video he made before he shot the poor Swedes and he appears very lucid and clear in that. Once he'd shot them it was game over for him and he knew that. He'd be shot dead or arrested and spend the rest of his life in prison. Why not continue his killing spree? Why not shoot those on the bus, or take them hostage? Bizarre behaviour.

No country will or is though. This bloke was convicted of terrorist offences in Tunisia and was in Brussels illegally. All this was known, he was on one of those "Very effective" watchlists yet allowed to roam around with impunity to the extent he could get hold of a weapon. Their government has blood on its hands.
