Yeah, just the murder of an innocent youth..
You have all the facts?
My observation was correct about the French and riots.

Nah it's France, there were more than likely riots going on already. The riots happened afterwards btw, unless I missed something?

Do you?You have all the facts?

Yes let's agree to disagree.Yes. What crime? He hasnt done anything yet besides drive away. You seem to have decided he IS a criminal?
But yes lets disagree to agree.

Support for him? Nah you've imagined something different.Yes let's agree to disagree.
Driving away was the wrong thing to do and he's paid the price. Support from people like you or none from people like me isn't going to change that. Hopefully people who find themselves in kind of position in the future will think twice.

I don't like the precedent that the police can shoot someone for running away. That's dangerous. That's going towards a police state.
I must admit that I don't get why people would want to riot over something/somebody that has no connection to them whatsoever. These ones have spread to Belgium apparently too.
Aren't there people who just like a riot, just enjoy smashing shit up and looting?I must admit that I don't get why people would want to riot over something/somebody that has no connection to them whatsoever.
Obviously a full investigation is required and hopefully justice will be done but for people all over the country (and a neighbouring country) to be rioting because someone who they don't know was killed just seems a bit absurd.
Yeah but the car wasn't being used a weapon. It was joyriding. He wasn't running, he was in a car a car that he was previously driving dangerously leading up to the incident. A car can be uses as a weapon.
Running away on foot is completely different.
Skint and need a new TV or a new pair of runners? Boredom?I must admit that I don't get why people would want to riot over something/somebody that has no connection to them whatsoever.

In effect what you're advocating is that anyone in a car that doesn't stop, or drives away, should be shot. Or could be.
Seems wrong to me, and I'm sure that this police officer will be convicted. Which again is a shame because he didn't do it on purpose.
It's panic afaic. Everyone loses.
Anyone know why the police in France carry weapons? Had it always been like that?
Thanks for your insight, bellendClown.
As someone not from the UK I find it strange your regular officers aren't armed. Most countries police officers are armed. All except these.Anyone know why the police in France carry weapons? Had it always been like that?
No need to thank me - it isn’t really insight when you’re just stating the obvious. Thanks for your insight, bellend
Most of ours are tbf, they have access to firearms in patrol vehicles. As someone not from the UK I find it strange your regular officers aren't armed. Most countries police officers are armed. All except these.
Ah, just like Norway then, they also all have access to them in their vehicles. Still count's as unarmed on that list since they don't constantly carry them around. Most of ours are tbf, they have access to firearms in patrol vehicles.
