Shortage of cooking oil

Do people still use this stuff to cook with?

Better off sticking it in your Diesel.

Only ever bought it when I had a deep fryer. But I'd wait for it to cool and rebottle it to use again several times.

Otherwise Olive/vegetable based spreads, olive oil or specialty things like nut oil for Asian recipes.

When I was a kid we had a chip pan full of fat on the stove all the time.
Never cleaned it out, just turned it on and off every day.

Was in a shared house when I had it so not really feasible. It was a standlone fryer, I'd never risk fucking about with the old firehazards.

I'd probably have rebottled it anyway to avoid the likelihood of it tipping over and spilling.

It was kept in a cupboard when we were young, but as soon as we opened the front door, we would know if it was chips for tea from the smell of the dripping heating up.
