Fair play to the scousers tonight for boycotting their game at the ridiculously over priced Hull Shitty.
From what I understand, they've boycotted the game by buying concession tickets, and then not going, not quite sure I see the logic of that one.

It stops others paying £50 and the Tigers lose £38 a seat. If they didn't but they would always sell out to those who didn't join in.

CIty didn't boycott Wigan, we just got poor crowds that season away, and it was the Wigan fans not showing up that caused the price to be dropped for the following game. Just like City did no boycott Sunderland, Spurs, Palace etc this season, just a lack of demand.

So a concession was only £12 ? How do adult season ticket holders (I assume they have a similar system to us) buy a child ticket ? We (fans) couldn't do that as far as I'm aware.

I can think of 4 ways it could be done. For example if the supporters club just took juniors, or fans cooperated to buy multiple juniors with adults then returning the adults. One of the other two could be libel, and the other remains up my sleeve.

Must be honest I thought Wigan was a boycott,I did myself for that one as did a few of my mates.

It was definitely boycotted by some. Even in our darkest days we would have taken more than 1500 to Wigan!

We took 2,036 to Everton the away game before for a Sat 3pm (various ticket prices around late £20s mainly), then 1,961 to Wigan for a 12.45 on telly game.

It was due to playing poorly especially away, for our first away win November 29th we took 1,355 to Villa with tickets around £25. We also took 1,659 to Chesterfield in the cup, must have boycotted the £15 tickets.

The Wigan game was just due to very poor away form and the 12.45, away regulars wouldn't be that arsed about £35 then when they paid £45 for Chelsea. Some may have used the price as an excuse not to go after losing are only other 2 games at that stadium when we had big turn outs.

I stand corrected then, although clearly the odd one did as pointed out two posts above.

Re: Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Pri

I believe that the loyalty of city fans irrespective of football success is one of the key things that differentiate us. As such I do believe that the club are missing a trick in not rewarding loyalty and Introduce a simple scheme to make football more affordable to those that have renewed season tickets for many many years - a bit like a no claim bonus for season tickets! Of course I understand that commercial reality has to be taken into account but think the PR benefits would be significant as well as creating massive goodwill within our core fan base that are and will remain the heart and soul of the club. ( and no, I wouldn't qualify as I'm not a season ticket holder).

I posted something along the same lines in the ST thread but does not the £299 & £380 ST's and the 10 month interest free DD scheme count as such.
And they don't make a big PR dance and shout like WHU have recently either.
