West Ham are NOT reducing season ticket prices out of the goodness of their hearts, or as a result of the new TV deal. If that were the case, the prices would go down for the 15/16 season, which they're not.

They've got an extra 19,000 tickets to sell and are setting the price where supply = demand to maximize profit.

Great PR job by them .

But what happens when and if City expand the North stand, and the capacity of the Etihad goes up to 61,000/62,000? Do you think we will fill it at these current season ticket/matchday prices? Are we not going to be in the same boat as West ham United are ATM. A ground that's probably too big for their fan base, so the only realistic way to fill it is to make season tickets and matchday tickets cheaper across the board. Because if we can't fill the stadium next season, there isn't much point in expanding the North stand and adding a further 6000 seats if season ticket and matchday tickets are going to be the same price, or even higher. (God forbid!)

The first option is a price freeze after next season, and then when the North stand is expanded, to reduce the price of season tickets, so more fans buy them, and we fill the additional capacity.

MCFC have gathered quite a lot of info on how much us fans are willing to pay through surveys. When we expend the North stand, the club will set season ticket at whatever level they think will generate maximum revenue, just like West Ham have done.

I think the extra capacity is great for us fans. People often bemoan empty seats but when the sold out signs are up every week, it's easy for the club to raise prices. The extra capacity in the North stand should, I hope, see a levelling off of the annual price hikes. The extra seats in the South stand have already benefited many (including me) with the £380 and £299 options. Hopefully the North stand expansion will mean more people save money.

I'm glad you've benefited Pete. And that goes for the other fans who have moved and made the best of the cheaper seats. I could have done the same, but I decided to move to the new singing section and pay £600 for the privilege. But that leaves those on the waiting list out on a limb. There won't be many of those cheap seats left for them, so the only option is to buy the more expensive seats, wait until the North stand is expanded, or get a refund.

Personally I think City have underestimated the demand from current season ticket holders for the new cheaper season tickets in the South stand 3rd tier. And this has been compounded by the large price rises in level 2 of the East Stand, with a saving of £200-£300 being the norm with a move to the South stand.(don't know the exact prices), Many who were sat in level 2 seem to have moved to the lower and middle tiers of the new 3rd tier, where the view is still pretty good.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed City fans on the waiting list. We'll see.

The club are so far away from the fans they probably think they're doing us a favour by raising them, in one way or another.

Re: Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Pri

of the 55k+ next season how many are city aloud to have as season ticket holders?

I agree. I don't think the club realised so many current season ticket holders would want to move to the 'cheap seats' - there's a lot moving from around me in 110 which I didn't expect, and I know what half of 210 seems to be vacating. Nevertheless, is only right that existing season card holder get 'first dibs' over new season ticket holders.

Most definitely. Anyone with access to the ground map mind telling us how many 'cheap' seats are remaining? It's going to be a mad scramble when the lines open for those on the waiting list.

Re: Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Pri

Why would the club reduce prices if fans (I don't know the exact %) are paying an 'optional' £50 a year for platinum. Once people stop buying platinum, prices will freeze.

Re: Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Pri

Just posted this on the relocation seat thread.

Either I'm very sad, or I've got a sick sense of humour and enjoy doing this?
As of tonight, and if the seat planner is correct, there are only *941 seats* left in the South stand 3rd tier.

The breakdown is this. I may have missed the odd square or duplicated it while counting them all. :-?

Block 318, 282 seats.
Block 317, 215 seats
Block 316, 157 seats
Block 315, 229 seats
Block 314, 58 seats(nearest block to the away fans.)

9000 fans on the waiting list. I presume many are after the cheaper South stand seats.

You do the maths.

People pay for Platinum so they don't have to pay touts prices for Wembley and big away games. Maybe fans are getting exploited (or maybe it's an investment) but I see a market for Platinum until the Club withdraw it!

I agree, but I expect the club may use this as a measure to justify yearly increases along with those daft surveys.

They are proposing to go through the waiting list in blocks of 250 per half day i.e on the first day of release the first 250 will get to choose from what is available in the morning and then the enxt 250 in the afternoon.
