Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Prices

Re: Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Pri

A lot of people on the ST waiting list will have been on it for some time won't they? Haven't we been sold out of ST for many years with only the odd few hundred coming up each year when people drop out?

I'm not sure everyone will want a £299 ticket.

Bloke near me wants two for his wife and kid and happy to pay for padded seats.

Whilst £299 is attractive, not everyone buys purely on price.

There are some great seats in CB level 3 for £600. For the regular match goer who pays £48 plus a match, that is good value, even if they miss a few, especially with the 10 match DD.

I think at least half the people of the waiting list will be prepared to pay more than £299. The other half who won't should get another chance when they build the NS.

In 3/4 years, I think we will be averaging 55-60,000.

Ridiculous premiss of course they shouldn't reduce prices we are already miles behind our rivals in match day revenue.

As people drop out because of cost other people with more money will take their place that is modern football like it or lump it

The fans want the best players and unfortunately they cost and with FFP hanging over us like the Sword of Damocles we need to drive up match day revenue not reduce them

So how much extra are you chipping in next season?

I See Bayern Munich are having another poor season despite not havingvticket price hikes!

Whist I think the sky money should be used to make football more accessible I think one or two things should be put into context.
Munich, the land of milk & honey, free beer and football tickets for a fiver!
Well, not quite. When people compare England and Germany it's often on average prices which is somewhat disingenuous. What Germany has, that we don't, is standing. This is where the cheap tickets are to be found. 2 blocks of standing, holding about 12 000.
Bayern sell out every home league match though and it is nearly impossible for non-members to get tickets, even in pre-sale. An alternative is to try your luck on the official Bayern ticket exchange on viagogo!!

Bayern have divided their home matches into two pricing categories. Tickets for Category A matches, the most expensive, range in price from €35.00 for a seat at the upper tier behind the goal to €70.00 for most seats at the sides. Tickets for category B matches, the cheapest, range in price from €30.00 to €60.00. Tickets for the standing areas behind the goals go in both cases for €15.00.

As for Barcelona where, according to the press like Munich, you can get a season ticket for £100. Try getting one of those!!

Ticket prices depend on the opponent as Barcelona have divided their home games into six different pricing categories. Most tickets fall into one of four (A-D) categories, but prices are higher for Real Madrid (A++), Valencia, (A+), and the last match of the season.
Tickets for category D matches, the cheapest, range from €29.00 for a seat at the upper tier to €109.00 for a central middle-tier seat at the main stand. Tickets for category A matches range from €59.00 to €169.00, and tickets for A+ and A++ games will be even more expensive.

Re: Should City Follow West Ham and Reduce Season Ticket Pri

my platinum ticket in 308 has gone up £75 so will be going for the gold alternative at a £25 increase. Could have moved to the cheap seats at £299 but do I really want a view so far from the play? Will those on the waiting list get their £100 refunded when they don't get their cheap seat? I take it they don't fancy paying what I am paying.

Yes. The waiting list wasn't created overnight when they announced the South Stand expansion and the prices, no doubt some joined hoping for a cheap seat but some are on there (the lower numbers especially) who just want an ST.

BTW, West Ham started taking minimum 25% deposits for season tickets for 2016/17 at the new stadium from the end of last year (I think), and that is a non-refundable deposit...

They also have a credit deal for purchasing tickets but I don't know what their rate of interest is, there's no 10 month interest free option.

E-mail UEFA and let them know this side effect of FFP. Our owner could afford to let people in for free but the rules means this is now impossible.

If you pay Mini prices....don't expect a Rolls Royce.

We will have 15 league games next season that do not sell out
