Should Dzeko start on Sunday?

Why is everyone adamant Balotelli should start? We can't afford to have a passenger against a team who haven't lost at home for 19 games.

Now, I know Balotelli could have a stormer but at the moment is it really worth the risk?

If you want evidence think back to the last time he played against them, he had an absolute shocker, probably his worst game for City. You need to guarantee that every player will be pulling in the same direction on Sunday and we know that Balotelli will only do this if he feels like it

I'd start him on the bench and if we need him then I believe he could come on and cause a great threat to them or equally he could lose his head. Either way the risk is much lower.

We simply cannot bank on Balotelli being up for this game.

Are you for real?

Last time we played the scum was in the semi, Balotelli led the line on his own and was one of the best players on the pitch, it was the beginning of his turnaround in fortunes towards the end of the season.

He rises to the occasion in the big fixtures, he's that sort of player. I have full faith in him to deliver on Sunday, and he will.

Dzeko on the other hand is a donkey and won't be given a minute on Sunday. Hopefully.

Bollocks.

Common blues. He was right after Marchena and Aguerro when we scored. He was the best attacker in our squad, better than Nasri (Did he play?), Silva (Villareal scored after his mistake), Aguerro (other than goal, what did he perform?) and especially Yaya (numerous mistakes). What do you expect from him? You better watch the game one more time...

I dont see bollocks topics out other as well.....

Behave. I think you might be being a little bias JasminBosnia

You go and behave. Do not patronize us (Bosnians) who support MCFC at any time. Please lead us to a topics where you criticize Nasri Silva Yaya Balo or tevez (before he made "mistake" in Munich)?

Let me save your time, there is no topic where you dont support MCFC player, pls shut up!

i like dzeko but he had a mare tonight, worst player on the pitch.

we are manchester city, we're not one player, we don't give a fuck if he is bosnian. we only care if he puts the effort in and plays well.

We played them last in the Charity Shield and Balotelli did not have his best game for City put it that way..

I want us to play him on Sunday however and use Dzeko as a super sub!!

You can only go by form - Aguero picks up where he left off, a goal machine. Balotelli in fantastic form. Dzeko in poor form. So it is going to be Aguero and Balotelli, especially when the former played less than a full half and the latter was suspended today. Dzeko will come good again but was severely disappointing tonight, every time the ball went to him it seemed to bounce off or he'd miss chances he should do better with.

Glorified pre-season friendly.

Nonetheless, I accept he didn't cover himself in glory in that game, but he does deliver on the big occasions, and will do so on Sunday. I have much greater confidence in him than I do Dzeko.

Balotelli is really finding his feet now, he just needs a little faith, he will deliver.

Here is my objective comment regardless of the fact that I'm a huge Dzeko fan and frankly disgusted at the hatred that some on this forum show toward the lad. He wears the shirt proudly and deserves your support regardless of his performance. It is disgraceful to call someone shit who had the best one game performance of any striker this eyar against Tottenham and made a statement game for City to start off the season with 6 goals in 3 matches.

That said....given the in-form Balotelli and Aguero, I would start those two strikers against United and bring in Dzeko off the bench in the second half if they need a spark. Dzeko has always had good games against United so this is a tough call, but that he seems to have lost his confidence recently and finishing has been poor. Even though he scored in Bosnia's matches, he missed some chances which would hav sealed the victory against France. It was the same tonight where he could have scored on several occasions but missed. He should be given credit though for making himself a threat.

I have a theory regarding the hatred against Dzeko. Folks have fallen in love with smaller, athletic, fast players and hold Dzeko's size and pace against him. He is simply a different type of player and you only notice the mistakes he makes because you are looking for him to fail. Aguero lost several posessions tonight where he just had a poor touch and nobody was questioning his ability because he scored. Had Dzeko scored on one of those chances, he would have been hailed a hero and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Cheers!
