My anger with the second goal is more at Laporte than VAR. It's such a lazy and sloppy pass. He's culpable more than VAR.
He's even named after a part of Liverpoolthat’s the one. Liverpool isn’t he
It wasn't offside. He made no attempt to go for the ball. I remember we scored one at West Ham a few years ago where Negredo actually dummied the ball miles offside and Aguero runs on to score.
The foul on the other hand is ridiculous. It's innocuous, it's accidental, but has a fundamental effect on the player having a clear run on goal so how it isn't given is unbelievable. Anyone would think UEFA were looking for a way to do is over.....
That said, it doesn't alter the fact we deserved absolutely nothing from that game and I feel more annoyed today than last night!
Not really a valid comparison. Firstly, Negredo wasn't even offside. And secondly, he just walked past the ball; he didn't have to open his legs for it to go through! It wasn't offside. He made no attempt to go for the ball. I remember we scored one at West Ham a few years ago where Negredo actually dummied the ball miles offside and Aguero runs on to score.
Not making excuses as we deserved to be dumped out due to our inept and cowardly set up but that’s another story.
Their second goal though? Regardless of whether it brushes his foot or not I just can’t get my head around how he’s not deemed as offside. He interacts with the ball by skipping over it, it’s a dummy so he’s manipulating the ball which is interfering with play from an offside position.
I can’t think of any examples but I’m sure I’ve seen plenty of similar incidents given as offside hence my confusion.
please can someone explain to me the rules as I thought I understood them?
Professional football is corrupt, end of.Biggest scam is the lack of transparency and what potential infringements UEFA are looking at when making such decisions.
Everyone hates the lines when it's a close offside call but at least the Premier League show the TV audience and in real-time when they are drawing the actual lines.
UEFA don't show shit during the decision making process and we have to pick the bones from the limited replays and angles they make available.
The TV director/production company is obviously under the instruction of UEFA to keep replays of contentious decisions down to a minimum.
Alf Grey says hi!No, worst, most corrupt decision I've ever seen
