Should it have stood?

It wasn't offside. He made no attempt to go for the ball. I remember we scored one at West Ham a few years ago where Negredo actually dummied the ball miles offside and Aguero runs on to score.

The foul on the other hand is ridiculous. It's innocuous, it's accidental, but has a fundamental effect on the player having a clear run on goal so how it isn't given is unbelievable. Anyone would think UEFA were looking for a way to do is over.....

That said, it doesn't alter the fact we deserved absolutely nothing from that game and I feel more annoyed today than last night!

I thought that Negrado one was against Fulham as he definitely did one against Fulham as I was at the game and oddly enough was actually thinking about that dummy when I created this post.

I remember the Negrado one being very different though with an almost amusing slapstick stopping at the ball and gesturing he was not involved in play. I was surprised that was given and only thought it was due to his hammy acting.

This was different as he actually dummied it rather than just leaving it whilst protesting his involvement.

Players normally look totally disengaged with the ball when they know they are offside as it won’t count if they do. Which is my point.

Not really a valid comparison. Firstly, Negredo wasn't even offside. And secondly, he just walked past the ball; he didn't have to open his legs for it to go through!

Not making excuses as we deserved to be dumped out due to our inept and cowardly set up but that’s another story.

Their second goal though? Regardless of whether it brushes his foot or not I just can’t get my head around how he’s not deemed as offside. He interacts with the ball by skipping over it, it’s a dummy so he’s manipulating the ball which is interfering with play from an offside position.

I can’t think of any examples but I’m sure I’ve seen plenty of similar incidents given as offside hence my confusion.

please can someone explain to me the rules as I thought I understood them?

doesn't really matter - it stood we are out. Your first sentence sums up the reasons for that being the case.

Biggest scam is the lack of transparency and what potential infringements UEFA are looking at when making such decisions.

Everyone hates the lines when it's a close offside call but at least the Premier League show the TV audience and in real-time when they are drawing the actual lines.

UEFA don't show shit during the decision making process and we have to pick the bones from the limited replays and angles they make available.

The TV director/production company is obviously under the instruction of UEFA to keep replays of contentious decisions down to a minimum.
Professional football is corrupt, end of.

Forget the offside.

It isn't under the current rules, whether people agree with it or not.

It is 100% A foul though and one if the biggest bent decisions ever.

the question is somebody from the club should come and say what it really is cheating by uefa and the officials again
what are they scare off ? until somebody grows some balls and call it out it will keep happening

once is a mistake ? twice well your unluck ? three is cheating ? you just knew we was going to get done over again after the CAS win, i said it before the real madrid game ? it would be daft by uefa if they did it on the first game back and at city ground, but come the mini tournament you could bet it was coming and boy it did big style

my hurt this morning has turned to anger and we have to do something when the fans are back ? a big protest ? boycott the game ? tennis balls ? invade the pitch ? something as to be done to say us fans are not going to take it anymore
