2 years sounds about right, followed by a year's extension if he's looking good.

Almost contradicting myself, he could even become a Giggs/Scholes-type figure [felt ill typing that] and keep getting a year-on-year deal if he can come on and do 20 or less mins of work with the odd free kick, great ball, goal...

Definitely. He's still the second best of our 4 strikers and I don't see how it can be good for the club to let his contract run down and his value plummet accordingly.
