they are so very good for one's mental health.

it's odd that something that has grown wild for thousands upon thousands of years,
just up above us here in the pennines,
is considered against the law as things currently stand.

an illegal mushroom that grows in the wild?
it's a funny old world.

I know a man who got a box of mycelium substrate from Holland, with it being totally legal until he allowed them to germinate. That man kept the substrate in a ventilated plastic bag, spraying a fine mist on the inside of the bag and shaking it about to let a bit of air in once daily. After a month or so that man had three really big golden teacher mushrooms which weighed 40g wet, and he chopped them up into lemon juice and drank the lot. That man felt like Tom Thumb for 6 hours, everything was big and he hasn't done it again.

We get the Wonkey chestnut ones from Lidl.
did you know that chestnut mushrooms are more full of nutrients than any other shopbought mushroom?
the thing is, though,
if you cook them in any way at all they lose all their healthy goodness.
best to just slice them up and eat them raw on your dish.
they will help you will live longer.
eat plenty of them and maybe you'll live long enough to see manchester city become the best team in the land and all the world.
we can only hope.

i know a man who ate half of a fly agaric.
he said he met god and it was himself.
stupid behaviour.

i'm talking about the liberty cap.
psilocybe semilanceata.

I heard a tale of a man who had a small portion of said shrooms but felt nothing. Nothing that is until he was driving from East London to Berkshire and a set of Motorway signs turned into a red traffic light which rather freaked him out.

Illegal but impo

Illegal but impossible to police. Plenty of wild spaces where you can pick and munch to your hearts content..allegedly.

I know an old woman who swallowed a fly.

I know someone who, last Friday, came back from the pub and had a mushroom omelette.

Living life to the full.

Should be legal. Can't even get microdose strips imported anymore!

I have never tried shrooms, what do they actually do to you?

Theres a very fine line between it being ok and not being ok. The dosing scale has tiers - and it works roughly like, let's say.....40g wet/freshly picked is the equivalent of 4g dried out, they lose size dramatically. 1g is the nice microdose, 2g it might get a bit wavey, 3g you're going to feel it and anything beyond is a bit of a lottery depending on mood/predisposition. 5g or above is the scary zone and known as the "heroic dose".

That man I knew remained in a controlled environment of home and so whilst it was highly confusing, there was never any real danger. The walls were breathing, butterflies on a painting were moving and flying, cows in the field up the hill were melting and multiplying. He also saw the Microsoft Windows logo in a brilliant 3D everytime he closed his eyes, and the neighbours house became a picturesque cartoon cottage as he stood barefoot on the back lawn.

if you are gentle with them they will be gentle with you.
they sort your head out and things seem to make more sense.
the next morning you feel at one with the world & at peace with yourself.

usually, as they kick in, the first thing you do is start to laugh a lot,
because things that shouldn't move start to move. it's hilarious.
the depth of your vision expands way beyond what you could imagine.
everything interesting becomes more interesting to look at.

they are a gift from nature (unlike, say, laboratory-made acid)
but...
like most things, if you overdo them then you are taking a chance of having a few crazy hours.

i once had a few too many and went clubbing.
everyone else was e'd up.
they all turned into fishes and i had to leave.

your brain is fully aware that they haven't actually turned into fish.
it's not that you believe these things are really happening,
but it's mentally testing talking to a friend who resembles a cod.
