Sick of some fans

Do we really need three defensive midfielders on the pitch against the team at the bottom of the league though? at the expense of your MoM for the second game running?

Were we under the cosh with the two defensive midfielders on?

elano wants hughes out

He most probably does.

But it's not showing in his form or demeanour at the moment.

It's been a welcome return to form, and while I would still have him on the "questionable" list for next season he is doing a good job of convincing me that we must keep him at the club.

The point of a sub is to improve the teams chance of winning. IMO only one of the three did.

Gelson provided an extra body defensively and a bit of energy in a game where ours was sapped from Thursday night. Especially to help out Zab on the right.

Petrov provided two key balls, one of which led to the goal.

Sturridge scored a goal and should have had another and provided one for Ireland.

They each contributed, to varying degrees. We won the game for the short time Gelson was on the pitch.

It wasn't the best sub he could have made given the circumstances of the game.

In my book that means it was the wrong sub.

Yet we increased our lead.

I honestly don't get it.

Hughes makes subs and we lose = wrong tactically

Hughes makes subs and we win = wrong tactically

Elano was quality, but even with 2 DMs we were being outrun. Do we just carry on with the status quo and hope they don't score?

At times.
We also bossed the game at times with two dm's and Elano on, which probably contributed to him being named MoM?

This wasnt meant as an Elano slagging thread. Played well on thursday and today. Got subbed in both. You can't tell me that it is a coincidence that Sven and MH bring him off the majority of the time before the end
