Reasoning - i think we need a special player to improve the central midfield area, someone like Fabregas/Wilshere, but i can't think of an attainable one. Therefore, a different solution would be to keep the central midfield in it's current, more solid rather than spectacular form, and increase our creativity and invention out wide.

David Silva?

Silva is carryin' the entire creativity of the whole team. He needs a soulmate, a complement, an' I think David's choice would be Arteta! Still got three top flight seasons left in those legs and when he's knackered we go back for Jack!

Sweinstiger
Barry - not needed if we had him
Viera as Barry becomes utility player.

But this would rely on us getting a top quality centre back to partner Kompany. Only reason our defence doesn't concede so much is because we have the beast NDJ in front, I would love not to have to use him everygame so we can start winning 6-0's again.

A very realistic signing would be Eden Hazard.

He's got everything we need: pace, trickery, creativity, and the ability to play wide.

He's been put up for sale at 21 million. On top of that, he's a midfielder who Wenger wants to sign, and he is the best at judging Prem quality midfielders.

Sneijder would be fantastic, but he is somewhat unrealistic as his price would be huge. 35 million at a minimum, probably more like 45. You could grab both Hazard and Elia combined for less.

Ok lets play a game you can sign one player, any player only catch is it has to be a realistic signing. So no need to say "Lionel Messi" when we all know damn well Barca are not going to let him leave and he would not leave. Once you have your player please list.

1. Reasons why you want him at the club and in the team?
2. Who you would drop from the first team or is he going to be a bench utility player?
3. Which squad player you would sell off to create space for said purchase and why?

LETS GO!!!

1. Xavi - We haven't had a player who can completely control a game since Benarbia.

2. Barry - I would play a 4-1-4-1 with NDJ/Yaya just in front of the back 4 and Xavi & Silva behind the main striker Tevez/Dzeko. Balo on the left with AJ on the right. (We still need a proper left back though, so I'd swap Kolorov for Marcelo)

3. Vieira - He's in the twilight of his career. Jo hasn't lived up to expectations, but he's only in his early 20's and has more longevity than Vieira would.

Thoughts? Dribble for manager or what? :-) lol

Did you not understand the word realistic? :)

Bale, then we could play:

Balotelli Dzeko

Bale Johnson

De Jong Silva

... at home anyway, perhaps put Yaya in away from home instead of Silva, Johnson, or Bale and change it around a bit, dependent upon opposition of course. We need to play with wingers I think. Tevez is probably to player to go, not through choice, I just don't see him staying past the summer. Barry and Yaya on the bench to bring on to sure it up once we've gone a couple in front.

Dribble not for manager then? :-)

Mate I thought I would have to put up with the likes of Bernardo Corradi for eternity, so seeing the likes of Yaya, Tevez, Balo, Silva, Dzeko makes me believe that even at 31 years of age there might be a small chance that this maestro could grace Eastlands in our sky blue shirt even if only for 3 seasons toward the twilight of his career.

I can only live in hope....

We need a box to box midfielder.Hopefully Michael Johnson will provide it. As much as I like Barry he slows the play down and his passing is not up to scratch.
We also need someone with pace.SWP seems to have lost it so how about Lennon. He gots the pace and seems to have improved his crossing.
So SWP out Lennon in.

I also hate everyone saying Micheal Johnson is actually going to ever make it in a City shirt. He is not.

I'll be biased, but a realistic good signing would be someone like Miralem Pjanic. He's only 20 years old and really knows how to make everyone around him better. He's got a great touch and can also be a threat to score.
