Sign Pizarro, yes or no?

No. I'd be more inclined to concentrate on intergrating the 18-20 year olds to the 1st team otherwise any potential youth player wouldn't see the point in going to City if they resort to loaning 30odd year olds rather than giving youth a chance.

Stop being so fucking stupid, he's 32/33, his legs have gone and he isn't fit enough for more than 10 minutes in the Premiership. Absolute class act, very gifted on the ball but upsets the balance of the side because he's not got the required pace or fitness to get back.

Strange !! How old is Scholes and what about his blistering pace !!
Fucking hell, what do want from a 32 year old ? He`s got a footballing brain and can find space and men,
Something that some of our younger midfielders seem unable to be capable of.

good shout!

The difference is Scholes has pace around him in their midfield, our midfield would get outrun by Heather Mills in a sprint.

No. As YaYa slows, he can assume the role of sitting grandee who can ping it around. Good player but never more than a squad player and he and Hargreaves won't challenge the others enough for their position. Would prefer to promote from within if possible.

He's no Scholes though, plus due to Uniteds style of play Scholes is afforded far more time and space on the ball so pace isn't really an issue with him.

In theory I agree but we have no one like Pizarro really, the position he plays (deep-lying playmaker) is extremely hard to find a talented player for.

Scholes is United through and through, more than just a player, but a symbolic talisman, and he's been brought in to 'fill a woeful gap' for half a season.

Pizzaro's been brought in to help out midfield, but he doesn't have that 'boost' that bringing back a great gives you. Scholes is not the future of United. Pizzaro's certainly not the future of City.

I'm not saying older players don't have a place... they absolutely do, but we all know Fergie WANTED Sneider, not Scholes!... he's a stop gap that's worked out well for United, and fair play to them.

Proven midfielder, knows the club and the players inside out, comes back into the squad for 6 months - canny thinking from wise old Fergie

It's not quite the same for Pizzaro is it?

Yes. I don't think he'll expect to start or play every game and there really isn't a midfielder in the squad that can pick a pass like him, Yaya aside.
