Simple question, are you walking out during West Brom? YES or NO?

Are you going to walk out during West Brom game in protest at ticket prices?

Who are these new season ticket holders complaining about the atmosphere believing they're moral leaders trying to arrange a walkout? Name names.

Just sounds a lot like a strawman to me. Feeble attempt to discredit other blues, blues who are ultimately looking out for your interests.

Anyway, I don't object to you objecting, I object to you making pathetic insinuations that anyone who's in support of a walkout must be a lesser blue, or a bandwagon blue altogether.

You know that's not true, you're just trying to shame other blues into being in opposition to a protest. Why?

Newcastle's walkout didn't achieve anything, because it had an unrealistic goal. They were never going to get rid of Ashley.

Liverpool's walkout had a realistic goal, to stop ticket price increases, and achieved that goal. And, what's more, their protest proved pivotal in the PL introducing the £30 away cap.

I am against a walk out not a protest. The best protest is not to buy tickets and to cancel UEFA cup scheme. However if City don't don't qualify for CL next season many would cancel anyway.

I could name 'usernames' easily but I don't due to obvious unnecessary aggravation it would cause to prove a point.

Thing like the 'Bolton Boycott' only made the loyal fans pay more on that day, as we could not get the £9 cheaper lower tier, it was an internet only thing that the press found out about then the club took an initially reduced allocation.

Will the '£30 Cap' means city fans will pay more to sub away fans? Will the £30 cap mean people on lower points will never get to aways from now on? Double edged sword this protesting without thinking it through.

No, I think you are mate.

Prior to that protest at Anfield the PL encountered real opposition to that away cap from several PL clubs, it was the national debate that the protest at Anfield provoked, and the pressure that came with it, that proved key in making it a reality.

Wasn't anything to do with the Liverpool protest at Anfield to be honest mate. It was the result of a 3 year long campaign by the FSF and fan groups up and down the country. Scudamore had already given an indication before the Liverpool protest that the PL clubs may well be able to do something about away ticket prices.

I will add though that the Liverpool fan group Spirit Of Shankly played a very important role in the Twentysplenty campaign.

I hope I'm not your list, Corky. ;-)

Like many on here I've had a season ticket for as long as I can remember. And yes, I started the walkout thread, not because I'm a wannabe leader, but to instigate debate, and to raise awareness of further matchday ticket price rises, be it a CL QF against PSG, or a PL match. It seem's to have worked, if nothing else? That aside, it doesn't matter how long any City fan has had a season ticket for, or how long they've been a City fan. What's important is that all City fans can go and watch City by buying affordable season tickets and matchday tickets.

That's fair enough then mate, but I have a real problem with that rationale in respect of not subscribing to cup schemes etc, as hypothetically with Pep's arrival our relevance could be made even more insignificant with the greater draw we'll soon have for football tourists who'll fill those vacated seats of blues who can't afford or justify the cost anymore.

Soriano and co don't care who buys the tickets as long as they're sold. If we're not careful and very mindful of this then I fear we'll see a situation where the core support represent an increasingly smaller proportion of the match crowd while the number of football tourists and bandwagoners with lots of disposable income grows exponentially.

It's already happening now, the question is just how quickly it degenerates IMO. I think this will leave lasting scars if it continues much longer, there will be a point of no return eventually.

I accept that you're against a walkout against West Brom, and that appears to be a general consensus emerging now, but may I ask what would it take for you to support a walkout?

Would you not agree though that it had an influence mate?

Prior to that there was no real sense of that discontent affecting the PL 'brand', those images from Anfield went around the world and brought the debate about ticket prices with it.

I recognise that the wider longterm campaign is what proved central to the cap becoming a reality, but I'm adamant that SOS's protest broke the deadlock when it seemed to be stalling and really shit up a few big wigs who thought they had the disharmony contained.

If we do have a walkout it should be against a big team rather than a game their is little interest outside the 2 clubs, however I would never suggest people who have paid good money to watch a match miss the the most important part.

If anything a boycott of the PSG game would be more appropriate, and save money rather than wasting it walking out of an unrelated game.

@Ric I appreciate you asked last week what we wanted in the poll, and no one answered (that I saw - apologies if I missed it). Is it possible to change it to "what protest would you prefer" with a couple of more options in, ie Nothing, walk out on 60 minutes, boo on 60 minutes, silent poznan, banners this time, turn my back on 60 minutes, stay on the concourse for the fist xx minutes etc. then have a vote later on for which one you will actually do once it's narrowed down to a couple of the more popular options? Maybe even have an "other" as I'd like to stab the inflatable banana I got at the semi (as it only lasted 2 games and self deflates) and throw it on the pitch on 60 minutes (the one I bought in 1988 is still going strong (I have lost my inflatable Alien though))

As 1894 have organised a protest, I don't see why other protests just need to be discussed now, just get behind the one planned or else it'll end up like monty Python scetch with splitters everywhere.

Sound points, but specifically though mate, what would it take for you to decide you wanted to take part?

Whether that was staying in the concourse for the first 10 minutes with protest banners left on the seats (like Bayern fans did at the Emirates), or getting up and joining a walkout with more than 10 minutes normal time remaining?

I accept that you don't believe it's the right course now, but what would change that? Another increase in season ticket renewals announced before the end of the season?

Another increase in a year? Or the year after that?

That's what I worry about, by the time enough blues come around to the idea of taking action it might be like trying to turn around an ocean liner - the damage done.

Yeah, no worries mate - more than happy to start a new poll if we can get a coherent list of options together.
