Oh tight, so oil is his only interest right?.... no wrong he own's lots of businesses, infact he's that clever he invested 400 mill in barclays and turned that into 1.5 billion... not bad for a guy who was born wiv a silver spoon!

Where did I suggest that he only owns oil interests? I said he wouldn't be rich without the oil. Not the same thing.

Yes he did do well out of the Barclays deal, you are right. Still doesn't make him a great business brain. And the management of City so far has been patchy - at best.

I know Abu Dhabi and Dubai are not the same place, but the DIC precedent really does worry me, I must say.

"Not knocking the sheikh or anything, but he's only rich because his family struck oil, not because he's some great business genius"

the sheik has made his own personal fortune some 30 billion through his own business dealings. Yes his family own the soverign to which he is the chairman.

But to say he's only rich cos he was born into a rich family is stupid imho. Yes he may of made 1/2 little mistakes while owning city but certainly nothing catastrophic... he'll bring success of that i'm certain!

We really do have some numpties as so called fans ! How anyone could question our owners defies belief - based on what they have done so far (and I include sacking Hughes something which I disagreed with)

If you don't have the money you can't make any decisions you want as these will be tempered by limited finance so to think that we could do better than our current owners defies any logic. Irrespective what would be the alternatives ?

Anyone with even half a brain can tell that our great club is on the up and our owners are the one's to deliver success.

If anything it would be a continuation of moronic threads like this that would start the owners questioning their involvement. Otherwise we have no worries and should thank our lucky stars as being the luckiest fans in the world.

To even question it is moronic imo.

So a categoric resounding YES!

Our owner is the best thing to happen to our football club for many a long year. If he wants to spend millions of his own money bringing the best young manager in world football to our club, then I'm right behind him 100%. Can't understand why anyone wouldn't be to be honest.

I see your sitting on the fence again :)

I hope you're right. Time will tell I guess. I think that some of the mistakes while in charge of City have been quite big, but there are some signs that things are improving - and some signs that they aren't.

Maybe the sheikh would've made a ton of cash had he not already been rich. It's possible - but I have my doubts. He is in such a privileged position - both in terms of wealth and having access to the levers of power - that if he is competently advised he will inevitably make money so I find it hard to ascribe any great credit to him for that.
