But to say he's only rich cos he was born into a rich family is stupid imho. Yes he may of made 1/2 little mistakes while owning city but certainly nothing catastrophic... he'll bring success of that i'm certain!

I hope you're right. Time will tell I guess. I think that some of the mistakes while in charge of City have been quite big, but there are some signs that things are improving - and some signs that they aren't.

Maybe the sheikh would've made a ton of cash had he not already been rich. It's possible - but I have my doubts. He is in such a privileged position - both in terms of wealth and having access to the levers of power - that if he is competently advised he will inevitably make money so I find it hard to ascribe any great credit to him for that.

Mate i could have have his start in life and trust me i'd of fcuked it royal, whiff wiv the lads every weekend, bad investments... businesses collapsing round me, just because your born into money in UAE you are expected to make your own way.

Whilst i respect your opinion, i do disagree...
I don't profess to know everything about him but certain posters on he, hbruz80, dubai blue, s04, Ajay etc do know and i'm confident they would agree with me.

Not only do i trust him, i also respect his rights to employ the man of his choice to take us were we want to be.

Fair enough Fixer. But like I say, the DIC parallel is deeply disturbing. What I mean by that is, DIC are abominably bad businessmen. Their management of their investments is appalling.

I do hope the Sheikh, and the Abu Dhabi establishment in general, are better. I suspect, in fact, that they are. But nonetheless, it is a worrying parallel.

I am very happy he invested in City. And I trust him.

However whether he is the best informed man in the world on football matters is another story.

Buying Robinho as a statement may not have been wise. No fan of Hughes but it did put him under pressure having a high profile player he didn't really want.

And if we sack mancini as another thread seems to think will happen again not so wise.
