I was just reading this article from a Newcastle fan who visited last Saturday and hope we can do something about how we’re perceived by other fans - We used to pride ourselves on singing and being loud, not just a quick song and only when we’re winning !!! CTID since 1974 home & away and a regular in Division’s 1&2 and it’s not good what I see never mind how others see us!?

Newcastle fans were fantastic on Saturday in terms of noise levels - probably the loudest away fans we've had in the PL this season - but that's a totally biased article. In many recent seasons when they've played us at ours they were nowhere near as good as they were on Saturday and in some seasons actually took a reduced allocation of tickets. When they played Huddersfield away at the start of the season live on Sky you couldn't hear a fucking peep from them all game so it's clear that their own support is hit and miss as well. Granted, we could've and should've been louder for sure on Saturday and you'd think with a 5.30pm kick-off on a Saturday it ought to be a decent atmosphere as it was against Spurs back in December but it doesn't always pan out like that. I remember seeing United fans complaining when they played Leicester at home earlier in the season on a Saturday at 5.30pm while they were on a decent run of form and the expected good atmosphere didn't materialise, despite the club offering them half-price alcohol for an hour before the game.
