Sir Michael Parkinson dies aged 88

One of the broadcasting giants, and a real legend of British television.

His interviews were intelligent and interesting, unlike those nowadays, which are all about the interviewee trying to flog their new book or album.

He also had a great show on Radio Two for several years. I loved it and it gave me an introduction to jazz and some of the best musicians of the genre.

R. I. P. Sir Michael. You will be greatly missed.

Played in the same cricket team as Boycott and Dickie Bird and his interviews with Billy Connolly will not be forgotten.

RIP

My favourite interviewer along with Dick Cavett.
Parky was very good. Probably the best there was. He's very popular here in Australia due to him doing shows here, I think he loved Australia.
RIP Parky.
