Remember Tiatto having a goal disallowed because one of our players was in an offside position "distracting" the keeper.

Think it was against Boro.

Wouldn't have a clue what the current interpretation of the rule is though.

Interfering with an opponent If an attacker interferes with an opponent by either preventing them from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent's line of vision or movements or making a gesture or movement which deceives or distracts an opponent, then they are offside.

well you could argue at the points of skrtels header, borini was impacting harts decision making, thus interfering.

When tiatto scored that goal the player 'offside' was on the far side of the pitch, outside of the area, even though Danny had run from his own area with the ball and lashed the shot on without knowledge of anyone else on the field

think it is somewhere near is he holding onto or otherwise stopping the keeper get to the ball or does he make an effort to touch the ball.

It was a perfectly good goal - the only thing that was poor was our marking.
Tevez's goal really was offside the other week,but I don't remember a thread moaning about that.

It is ludicrous still, although you are now at least making it clear where you think the offence happened. Something that isn't apparent from the first post. You didn't set out your stall very well as Borini was only standing on Hart's toes as you say as the corner was taken, when he was not offside. When the ball is headed, he's not blocking his view; no offside.

its not a moan, its a genuine question, that some on here were happy to mock but in truth are not as clever as they first thought they were.

remember santa cruz scoring for blackburn when sven was manager, the linesman iniitally disallowed the goal, then webb overruled him and gave blackburn the goal.

there are a lot of inconsistencies with the offside rule, and i dare bet some linesman would have had their flag up, the ref would have consulted and "maybe" said the forward was in fact interfering.

I wasn't mocking you. I was embarrassed for you. From what you said in the OP I was right to interpret what you said as arguing Borini was offside when Gerrard took it. Borini was not in front of Hart when Skrtel headed it. You weren't clear in your OP and you're still making an extremely tenuous argument now. The goal was perfectly fine.
