sky - are we about to be docked six points?

this must have been what the fat spanish waiter was on about when assuring them a top four spot.

As someone mentioned earlier

FA/premier league should pay the inland revenue, dock pompey points ensuring they go down then retrieve money owed buy taking it from their parachute payment

Do they own Fratton park? Could that not be sold to developers to pay off debts and see em through to the end of this season? Then the people of Portsmouth can have a Tesco and some nice flats next?

They own it, but have secured borrowings from the guy who took over last week on it. So I would guess that a part of the problem is that the owner has no incentive to put in more money to keep the club going and ensure he gets his loans back, because he can just repossess the stadium instead.

Furthermore, if a developer was interested in the site for housing, they would firstly have to factor in how much a new ground would cost to build as planning legislation ensures that an active sports field can not be built on without the provision of new, improved facilities in relatively close proximity. Although the housing market is picking up, unless a developer could get some substantial extra funding on board the job just wouldn't stack up.

A supermarket is a possibility but the site's problematic because of the close proximity of housing. It's not a great development site full stop to be honest because there's a big trading park adjacent to it which means housing on the site could also be a problem.

They're fooked basically.

i think its riduclous that we win twice and it counts for nothin and liverpool would be really helped. looks like they will do anythin to help the sky 4.

You do realise that this is a rule that has been in place in the league for about 100 years don't you?

the only way city or any other club will lose points gained against portsmouth is if portsmouth go out of business completely and cease to exist. going into administration would only result in portsmouth themselves being deducted 9 points (not 10 in the premier league).

i also realise that it wouldnt be fair on the teams who havnt played portsmouth aswell if we kept the points. it was one of those moments where i got a bit annoyed and wrote before i actually thought about it.
