Sky Sports Deals

I get a deal with my PlusNet account for BT at £10 pcm which I cancel at the end of the season, other sports don't bother me. I watch some games through streaming sites but, as you know, these can be a bit dodgy but they're free and OK for less important games. I use SKY via NOWtv for top City matches and usually buy a single 24hr pass for £9.99. I check to see how many City games SKY are showing on a 30-day rolling period. Very occasionally if it's 4 or more (does happen!) I'll go for a one off 30day pass at £33.99.
Got my daughter's details for Amazon so every option covered. I can't get to matches these days but last season I saw every City game live, second best, but I did put in a good shift in the past.

I have about the same I think.
Just cancelled mine as they wanted to go from £36 to £65 pm. She spent 30 minutes trying to find me a better deal and came back with £61! It's such a palaver and they obviously try to keep you on the phone as long as possible in the hope you'll feel sorry for the person on the other end of the call. That £65pm is a good deal (according to Sky) and they have already thrown in the fact it would be £85 for new customers. At the end of the day I put a value on what I want to pay for this service and I say £40 max. I think Sky overvalue their product, but bet they'll come back with 50% off (i.e £42.50) before the box needs sending back. Not sure I'd miss it that much if they don't.

Absolutely this. Sky wanted nearly 110 a month from me for what i was currently paying 60. Reduced my package down to the very basic sky q package and got what seems to be a decent IPTV package and so far not looked back.
If Sky were reasonable priced and affordable then they would have a lot more customers than what they have now, and the demand for IPTV would be nowhere near as high. I binned them off about 6 years ago when i was paying £80 a month. Told them they were taking the piss and I'd never go back to them again, and i haven't.

A good IPTV service provider is the answer to Sky's greed.
I honestly don't mind paying for something if I feel I'm getting value out of it, I just think that Sky have their strategy wrong and will inevitably push people to go that route. I probably won't because I watch very little TV and films these days and can just buy a day pass for the games I can't get to, but I do get concerned at who is raking in the money from it. I wouldn't want any of my money to end up in Russia for instance.

Value? Lol.

Sky think it's ok to charge well over £100 a month to have their full package, its quite frankly fuckin' scandalous!

And to take the piss even further they ram as many ads down our throats as possible, especially at HT in games!

Greedy Sky bastards.

As a product i think the Sky q platform is fantastic and we have it in 4 rooms throughout the house and is superb. However for them to think people spending £100 plus a month on a TV subscription in the current climate is realistic they are just so far out of touch. They treat their existing customers like crap with constant rises in prices and normally once deals end its a game of cat and mouse to cancelling before they even consider giving you a half decent deal. This was the point for me where i'd had enough and decided i would keep the sky q basic and multiroom and then use IPTV for all sports, movies and series. Overall its saves me about £800 a year.

£100+ is not the current price unless you're subscribing to MUTV and LFCTV on top.

:)

Seriously though, my point is I was getting everything (bar the premium channels) for £36. I knew it was a very good price but it's what I value it at. I could afford £100+ if I wanted to but that's not the issue.
