Im hearing from sources that two of our own daz page and shez were grassed up by mcfc officials here tonight the age of sorriano long live garry cook!
This is why, although I support the team, I'm beginning to hate the club. Bunch of soulless, corporate suits who have no concept of what it's like to be a fan or how to engage with us.

Oh dear. Another one of your controversial for the sake of it posts. Or should that be "deliberately provocative". Playing to the cheap seats. You "hate" the club. Wow. That's proper bottom of the barrel stuff.
That's the way I genuinely feel. Perhaps "hate" is a bit strong but I simply don't like what the club is becoming. And the increasing number of empty seats say the same thing.

Yes I agree we've got very professional & seemingly competent executives running the place now and that's something I actively campaigned for when we had that douche-bag Mackintosh running the show.
Yes I accept that we're moving onwards and upwards and there's a price to be paid for that.

But I contrast them sitting looking at their 'revenue optimisation models', where they're prepared to accept a couple of thousand empty seats in order to maximise income, and compare that to Garry Cook, whose atttitude was "we have to fill the ground to help the team" and I can't help feeling we've lost something along the way. I'd like to think Garry Cook would not only have recognised the City fans in the stadium but, instead of shopping them, would have found a way to keep them there.

I'm not a religious man but the quote from Matthew 16:26 sums up my feeling: "And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?"

Don't agree with anything you've posted there. As I say - "deliberately provocative" probably best sums it up.

I do appreciate where you are coming from in terms of how City have fostered a bullshit corporate attitude that is very at odds with the attitudes within its fanbase.

However, we all know the score with modern football - it's a revenue based arms race at the best of times and Platini and his UEFA chums have made this even worse with the introduction of FFP. The name of the game at not only City but every top club in the world now is to squeeze every drop of revenue out that they can in order to maximise their competitive advantage over others, or in City's case, just catch up with those clubs who have been at the top for a generation

If you're not going to address any of the points he made and instead are just posting to call him names and say how much you disagree then should try to refrain from posting until you have something more constructive to add.

perhaps this is how it feels to be City, this is how it feels to be big?

not the best feeling in the world, was right gobsmacked when i heard that it happened (speaking about our guys getting the boot from the game by our own team).

I don't agree with anything he's posted vis a vis us losing our soul, and I found his initial post to be deliberately provocative. Apologies if that offends it wasn't meant to.

PW - you surprise & disappoint. There are fewer empty seats than there used to be. I've been to many FA & League cup matches with empty seats when we were at Maine Rd where the capacity was much lower. We definitely have more people attending despite having more games each year owing to our success. You always sound as if you prefer to be a big fish in a small pond rather than aspiring to be a huge fish in a huge pond.

Our execs are doing all they can given the FFP sanctions & the absolute corrupt was of the Champions League

Doesn't the BOGOF for CSKA show that they would rather have a full stadium ? I have had this discussion with you before, but I still think having a full stadium with a great atmosphere makes it easier to sell the 'revenue optimising' corporate seats, I think CSKA is a great opportunity to let the club see that a full expanded stadium is possible on European nights with the right pricing.
I know you're less optimistic than me on this but I think/ hope with less pressure on the club with FFP , we will see a shift on pricing when the expanded stadium opens next season.

Quite I've expressed the same sentiments in a previous thread some weeks ago. I truly believe when the capacity increases prices will either stay the same or come down in that there will be more cheap STs. We already have the cheapest seats bearing in mind the fantastic players we have & trophies we have won. I wonder what fans expect. They seem to want us to compete with the top clubs using the Maine Road mentality. Can't be done

I think they found the Roma game embarrassing and another attendance like that would severely damage their carefully crafted PR image, making us a mockery in the eyes of the international fans they're trying to attract, rather than bestowing cheap tickets on us for financial reasons.

I see the "cheapest tickets in the league" PR battle has obviously been won. Yeah we do have £299 season tickets, theoretically. How many of you own one of them? Where do you sit?
Our regular priced tickets are about middle of the road and some of our away tickets are absolutely scandalous. West Brom fans had to pay £56 adult, £47 over 65s because we decided it was a Cat A game.

I'd be very interested to see the GMP figures for City's attendances recently rather than City's official numbers.
