slowest ever city player?

Fuck me, we really have had some slow fucker when you think about it!

Budgie Burridge has to be the slowest though - he was about 75 when he played for us!

Freddy Hill by the country mile all the others would have been in front of him in any race,

But I will add one of the most skillful players ever to grace a city shirt, he really would walk through the oppositions defense leaving a trail of players on their arse, he dropped a shoulder or just seemed to move sideways, and all in super slow motion with the ball seemingly fixed on the end of his boot, as they dived in and missed.

Nor would the rough stuff faze him, he just bounced them off and keep going on his meanders up the pitch.

Spot on. Injuries had robbed Hill of whatever pace he had before he signed for City. He really was very slow indeed and gets my vote. As you say though, he was incredibly skilful which made up to some extent for his lack of pace. Just a pity we we had him at the wrong end of his career - if he hadn't had the injuries he might well have developed into one of England's all time greats.

I never saw Ricky Holden play live, so can't give an opinion on him, but we've had plenty of pedestrians in my time watching City - Colin Viljoen, George Heslop, Barney Daniels, et al - however, in my view, of all those I've been privileged enough to see live, at Maine Road, over the years, Freddie Hill undoubtedly wins this poll by an absolute street. As I'm sure many others who, like me, are old enough to have seen him "in action," back in the day, will testify.

Agree with old George Heslop but he was BIG so it didn't matter. Think most
opposing forwards took one look at him and thought 'fuck it' and gave up!!

Gerry "jogging" Taggart had all the explosive pace of a club-footed asthmatic.

Great shout for Colin Viljoen above, I'd forgotten about him - complete waste of time.

Steve Daley was a bit of a sloth too.

There was a player from the early 60s who we, on the North Terrace, christened 'Treacle Feet' cos he always looked as though he was running through treacle. The name Paul Anson comes to mind but I wouldn't bet on first and/or second name being correct.

David brightwell... Looked like he was running in quicksand when kanchelskis gave him a 10 yard start
