slowest ever city player?

Surprised Alan 'run with a limp' Kernaghan hasn't had a mention!

Paul Moulden lost about 20 yards of pace when he can back from his back injury, but surely Richard Jobson has to be our slowest ever player

Nailed it saw Kernaghan (worst centre half in living memory) outpaced at Highfield road by Micky Quinn, think we lost 4-0 that day, Quinn got a hat trick maybe? We took about 9,000 & sang about Franny Lee for most of the game as what was happening on the pitch was worth ignoring

The slowest ever player was Didi Hamann when he had first joined the club. A game that sticks out was a dire 0-0 with Shef Utd in a game where I think Joe Hart started in goal. I don't think anyone in our side that day could run.

Roque Santa Cruz...Though hard to judge a players speed when he's lying on the injury table.

And no mention of Demichelis yet

Demichelis would look like Usain Bolt up against the likes of Jamie Pollock, Creaney and Bobby Taylor. Steve McMahon was pretty slow as well if memory serves me right. Could have a never ending list.

Sure I remember Pollock scoring a goal where he seemed to be running through on goal from what seemed like the halfway line for about 2 minutes and the player tracking him caught him easily but then tripped up on the back of Pollocks heels and he kept going and slotted it in!

David Brightwell.

And he once had to mark Kanchelskis.

Humiliating.

This x 10, can't believe they put him up against him that day. You just knew what would happen

One of the great City myths, David Brightwell actually didn't play in the derby when Kanchelskis scored a hat-trick.

Maybe not, but he was definitely up against Kanchelskis in the 2-0 match at the swamp six months earlier. For the record, he was indeed very slow, not to mention utter shite in that match.

threads like this always turn into naming players that no one's already mentioned just to be different...i'm surprised no one's mntioned David White........

Richard dunne?

Quite quick in a straight line

I remember one of the early derbies at the COMS, Dunny was up against Ronaldo. We defended high up the pitch, and a ball was popped over the top for the lady-boy to chase, and Dunny monstered him, the faggot never stood a chance. It was great :-)

Freddy Hill by the country mile all the others would have been in front of him in any race,

But I will add one of the most skillful players ever to grace a city shirt, he really would walk through the oppositions defense leaving a trail of players on their arse, he dropped a shoulder or just seemed to move sideways, and all in super slow motion with the ball seemingly fixed on the end of his boot, as they dived in and missed.

Nor would the rough stuff faze him, he just bounced them off and keep going on his meanders up the pitch.
