Ha ha forgot about him! Sat in the Stretford End for the Derby we hit post a couple of times and Brightwell got out paced and they scored 2 offside goals. Not pleasant at all. Sure he barely played after that.
Lucky you! I still have nightmares about him! ;-)
Who's "Bright" idea was it to put him up against Kanchelskis off all people?

Don't be fooled by the myth that has arisen over the years that David Brightwell played left back against Kanchelskis in the 5-0 defeat at the rags - because that was lightning fast Terry Phelan.

Brightwell played in a 2-0 defeat the season before.

Has Barry Silkman won this yet?
When he did the bleep test in training, they timed him with a calendar instead of a stopwatch.
If you let him know he had won today, he would be dead before he turned up to accept his award he's that fucking slow.
I have known chronic heroin addicts with more pace.
Bob Taylor moved like the fastest quark in the Large Hadron Collider by comparison.

Ricky Holden has my vote. Take one left winger, fill his legs full of concrete and hey presto.

Has to be Garcia this guy is so incredibly slow he takes five paces just to break into a jog.

alan oakes , a great player , and probably the most underrated in the '68 team , but once a forward went past alan , (and not many did get past him) he looked like he was running in quicksand.

Barry getting too many mentions in this thread. He looked like Linford Christie when he outpaced Giggs in the OT derby!

Gotta be Stephen Jordan now that you are all naming all the positions on the park ,
Fukin icebergs would Wupp his sorry arse

He seemed to have elastic legs; when he couldn't keep up with the winger he'd make a last ditch stretch too nick the ball out of play. Did this time and again. Played well against Ronaldo in the Derby as I remember.
