So what time is this going off then?

When they say before kick off do they mean 14:00 when nobody is there so it clears or at a decent 5minutes before ko?

-- Sat Mar 12, 2011 6:04 pm --

Coming from a personal view I say fuck it! Do whatever you can to build that atmosphere, honestly from a city fan point of view what is more important rules and regulations or a semi final at wembley. City need to see the priorities! We need to win!

Yes!

Indeed!

you better do this now, im really lookin forward to it :D

and i dont see why all the asthmatics cant hold their breathe for 5 minutes?

How many shitbags are going to light a crafty fag under cover of all the smoke i wonder?

Maybe if you make it a bit bigger the naysayers might see it.. although understanding it may be asking too much..

here's a reply i got from the club today

Hi Scott,

My colleague Peter Fletcher passed me your email to respond to.

To the best of my knowledge smoke bombs are not outlawed but this isn’t the route we have taken for Sunday. I think there is a slight consideration with making sure they clear and do not obstruct kick off so if we did this it would need to be managed effectively.

As you say the fans have really got behind the game and are bringing their own elements to make it a day to remember.
Many thanks for your email and if you would like to discuss anything else around atmosphere please let me know.

Reading that it just looks like she's saying [we] the club won't be doing smokebombs. She also starts out saying "To the best of my knowledge...", ie 'I can't be arsed to check but...'.

My guess you'd be on dodgy ground and may well be looking at a ban, that may be the reason you don't really see them too much at British games, just a guess mind.

Just to throw light on arranging stuff through the club, some of you may remember when I arranged the Ticker Tape at the Derby last season, the amount of work in the background that went into arranging that was immense. Not only did I have to arrange it through the club but then the club have to speak to the cleaners, H&S and the police as well as the Head of security and stewards.
For those that can remember it was Ticker Tape, Streamers and TOILET ROLLS, on the day of the game the tanoy outside the ground informed all the fans that Toilet Rolls wouldn't be allowed in even though I had arranged it through the correct people. That ended up with me at the gate on the phone to the club asking why it had changed, the reason was the police had enforced it not the club as they had heard fans were going to fill the centre cardboard bit with other objects.
If the club are going to allow it brilliant but if the police know about it, don't be surprised to hear a tanoy message tomorrow.
Still if it happens well done to the Blues taking them in.

Yeah I remember that cos I took a couple, I still launched them though and no-one said a word....
Just cos killjoy coppers say something, it should be taken with a pinch of salt due to the fact they haven't gone to the High court to change the law.
