Smoke bombs yet again

Why should I not take my daughter away she's city mad that a fxxxxxxking idiot lets a smoke bomb of .. I don't understand supporters on here don't take her away your off your head
I'm not saying don't take her. I'm saying football grounds are not the best places if you are overly risk averse and listed six different ways in which children are especially susceptible to injury at a football ground. If you want to take her and she wants to go, then go for it, but don't expect the sympathies of every single person, especially when there is very little to zero evidence of smoke bombs causing damage to anyone stood next to them. I've been next to them on three occasions now. West Brom away last season, Stoke away this season, and the rags at home in April 2012, miraculously I am still alive and wasn't injured in any way. So spare me another fun police lecture.

I know you didn't mean it that way Skashion but that sentence could have been applied to events at Hillsborough. The whole post-Hillsborough re-evaluation of football grounds was intended to make them safer for EVERYONE who attends them, should we really go back (or maybe we already have gone back) to making them less safe?

Setting off smoke bombs and bringing back safe standing are not mutually compatible. It's suggesting to the politicians and law makers of this country that football fans are still light years behind being decent human beings and should still be treated as so by clubs, stewards, the police and society in general. Why is it only football that has certain rules bestowed upon the paying public? It's because the rule makers think we can't be trusted and setting off smoke bombs will only help those that don't want safe standing to have a stronger argument.

I dont see how safe stand standing and smoke bombs are related. Yesterdays incident happened in an all seater stadium anyway. It will happen regardless.

They are not, that's not what I wrote. I am implying that the behaviour of fans has consequences.

I'm not well-read on this subject but wasn't it a giant police fuck up?
