Snooker World Championship 2025

Water it down? Xintong was not involved in any match fixing matches but admitted to the investigation he knew players involved but failed to report them. He also placed bets on match fixing games. Those are the 2 reasons he was banned. The investigation were satisfied he never cheated

He also placed bets on match fixing games. That's the Hook matey, He knew and still placed bets, look, he cheated and got the ban and the other 10 also got bans, Sports right across the board do not need cheaters and if found out and got banned, you're stained for life

See that but it doesn't affect his snooker unless he had a bet on him beating Ronnie in this game by 7/10 games then that would make him play better! ;)

I've got to say I love watching Mark Williams play. Seems a sound bloke too.

I'd love to see him win it all. Not sure he'll get over the line but I'd love to see it.
Williams is massively experienced (i.e old!) and goes about his game methodically. Good temperament. World number one can’t shake him off. Might get tired in latter stages but looks perky enough at the mo.

Might be same people who say you can't say "oriental"

I live in Korea and spend time in other nearby countries and see the word "oriental" everywhere and never met an "oriental" Asian person who finds it offensive in any way.

Chinaman definitely is a bit different as it was usually used in the west in the past to lazily label anyone from that part of the world. It's probably not super offensive per se, more very impolite and disrespectful.

Language is odd though, it's all context isn't it. On the surface, there's really no difference between the words "brit" and "paki", just shortened words, but we knew the way they're used are very different.

The chinaman is a cracking player

I see the word salad people have been tossing your arse in vinegar, it's great that there are still people left to get offended on other peoples behalf ;-)

And yes he's a cracking player, it's hard to believe he's 28 he doesn't look a day over 17.

Chinaman? Is it 1978?
In fairness if he’s a left-arm wrist spinner who bowls the equivalent of a leg spin, also known as a "left-arm unorthodox spinner" it may be factually correct. Google does however point out your summary that the term even in cricket circles is outdated and offensive.
Anyway that’s my boring attempt at humour done for today!

Good description :)

But on the wider point people try to force feed their only description or word until a new generation wants to change a word or meaning because they think they are being clever, there are certain names that all people have for each other that are offensive.

It doesn't need busy cunts (Offensive word alert) to point that out :)

I'm looking forward to a bit of snooker today, two players today that I like as people and are excellent players, my money is on Williams but don't quote me on that.

Thought you’d be ok with that phrase Daz.

Anyhoo back to snooker, I hope Englandman stuffs Walesman.
