Snooker

What a match between K Wilson and Zhanda, Wilson was outplayed but squeezed through with a 6-4 win. Next round looking very strong.
 
Snooker died when Higgins and White started to wane. Not watched it in years. Robotic shite! Ronnie's a phenomenal player, but I've never been able to take to him like the other two mentioned.

I got bored with it when Hendry came along, the old guard just couldn't compete, but I have started to watch it again in the last 5 or 6 years. I don't think we can ever enjoy it the way it was in the early eighties, mainly due to drug testing it has to be said. Unknowingly we were watching some players destroy themselves but we only had the public personae and didn't know too much of the shenanigans going on behind the scenes.

I have the same opinion about Ronnie. Clearly he's the best ever player and has personal issues but he don't half get on my tits sometimes.

Yes, so many with drug n drink problems back then. Higgins, White, Thorburn, Kirk Stevens, Dean O'kane, Bill Werbeniek to name but a few. I was only a very young kid in the early 80s so didn't get all that. I loved Higgins n White but my dad hated them because he knew what they were like off table. He was a Davis man who I despised. But now I quite like Davis, very dry sense of humour and a decent man.

My old Dad used to play the Manchester snooker halls back in the 60s and 70's and had a few run ins with the bloke. Hated him with a passion

Thought I may have jumped the gun a bit with Ding 3-1 up until that misss. It was a shocker and really came back to bite him in the end. The snooker gods didn't look to kindly on him whem Trump fluked that posiion on the black but after that it was pretty much all plain sailing. Shaping up to be a strong semi-final line-up as I expect Kyren Wilson to take the remaining spot tonight.
