I would say its a bit middle class to be honest
You think someone who gets out of the bath to have a piss is middle-class tbf ;-)

Getting out to have a shit is middle class ;-)
You go all the way to Bath just to take a shit or piss??! Do they have really nice sinks?

The comments to a degree are understandable, that is, understandable from someone who is short sighted.
In all walks of life, people don't respond well to change.
Since the premier league began, the a Rags, have been more or less in with a shout of winning the league every season, until now.
The global attraction of brand Beckham etc... All poured more interest on the Premier League...and the theatre of dreams...the big 4 etc....
But.....
The last few years have seen a change, the meteoric rise of City, and to a much lesser degree, Everton and Spurs, making the top 6/7 clubs more attractive.
As the Rags have declined, you could argue the emergence of Liverpool has filled their void nicely, and as already mentioned, there is a huge following in Asia of Liverpool.
City won the Asia cup (against us) back in July...and the fan base grows evermore over there.
This season, the first of the Rags decline, has seen a 4 horse race, it has been the most exciting premiership in memory.
But this could be the problem, the foreign fan wants to support the famous players, the ultimate winners of the league, and it isn't clear who that is going to be....however for me, Scudamore misses one big point relating to this, because the foreign fan tends to be fickle as fuck, most of them will have no issue replacing a red top for a sky blue one (or maybe one day, a red and white striped one) ;-)

Agenda - The motive?

Manchester United slump is harming global appeal of Premier League, admits Scudamore

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore admits that Manchester United’s struggles this season have damaged the global appeal of the competition.

Considered one of the world’s biggest sporting brands, United have a huge fan-base outside the UK, and their slump since Sir Alex Ferguson was replaced by David Moyes has already affected commercial success.

Speaking during a promotional visit to Johannesburg, Scudamore told Bloomberg: ‘It’s a double-edged sword. When your most popular club isn’t doing as well, that costs you interest and audience in some places.

'There’s lots of fans around the world who wish Manchester United were winning it again,’ he added. ‘But you have to balance that off against putting on a competition.’

The Premier League are reported to earn around £2.23 billion from the sales of all their overseas rights to live games for the three-year period, 2013 to 2016, with Asia contributing the major share of £941m.

Says it fucking all really................

It's all a massive conspiracy to fill the hours in Pidgeonho's day mate, in reality we're all emotionless robots with no attachments, loyalties or preferences, but we've all just been convinced otherwise so that Pidge can bring the light to the great unwashed and become the messiah of the 21st century.

It's alright though, the ending involves silverware.

Thats a shocker of a statement by Scudamore.

There is no balancing to do. The wishes of Man United fans around the world should have fuck all to do with a sport that has integrity.

SPOT F*CKING ON Moomba.

Scudamore just sounds like a typical rag who wants rid of Wee Davy , sounding off from his privileged position to give it weight.
Apart from the fact he's a Bristol City fan you mean?

You're awfully naive.

Why? Because he says he is a Bristol City fan and I believe it? Are there no Bristol City fans then?

The Pissiah?

Problem i've always had with this guys view is its all about money. Whenever I have heard him interviewed about the England teams failings or failings in the CL his response is always that we have the best and most successful league because of the financial gains it has brought to ( some ) clubs

He's not about football, supporters nor the grass roots its about cash for the elite few. He probably fits in well with the UEFA and FIFA heirarchy
