So why suddenly do they talk about Aguero leaving?

I think there's been a problem with Sergio for a while, and his comments at weekend clearly indicate this.

What's a positive is however this plays out we're winners. We could easily sell Aguero for £80m this summer, giving us huge funds to sign Dybala/Aubameyang (Griezmann is United bound IMO).

Griezmann has a release clause that will have to be met so anyone who meets it is at the table. At that point, why would he want to play in the Europa League under Jose when he could play in the CL with Pep. If you are an attacking player, the choice is obvious. Considering that everything else (money and location) is the same...it really isn't a choice at all is it?

Pep has not fully backed him from start and that I find concerning. Even when he praised him beginning of the season he added but he wants to improve him - did not hear him say same about Silva or Fern or even Yaya once agent issue was solved. Also not picking him against Barc still does not make sense other than there is something going on between two.

Might be that he had heard and since seen Aguero is a poor trainer and he feels he is not fulfilling his potential

Media sensationalist nonsense and perhaps it is everyone relenting or just bored enough to dignify and validate this issue by actually discussion it. The bottom line is that he is going nowhere and Guardiola has made that absolutely clear. He is one of the best players in the world and it is preposterous that this is even a topic of conversion. He is not happy and a bit unsettled at the moment and he has difficulties in playing the Guardiola way as a striker, which is:

- playing with your head up in the final third and linking with your team mates
- Being tactical diligent and working with the team

The first point being the more important and is something he will have to and will improve on. But he is obviously going to stay as there are very few strikers in the world that are in Aguero's level. Suarez and maybe Lewanovski (a big maybe) and that is about it.

He should however be treated like any other player not doing their jobs properly (according to the manager) and this uncomfortable experience will only make him better as a footballer.

He only has to look at the transformation in Yaya to see what can happen if you look, listen and learn to adapt. Wh would have thought Yaya would pick up a Player of the Month Award given the way he played last season?

Look at it another way. Say you're Kun, and PSG and Madrid ring up and say "you'll be our undisputed number 1." You then talk to Pep and Txiki who tell you "you're one of five strikers that we're counting on. we want you to stay here but we aren't going to guarantee you anything other than you'll play some games and not play others".

What would you do?

As much as we want Kun to stay and be part of the squad, the truth is that he walks into the best XI at PSG or at Madrid. If either of those clubs come calling, my best guess is he'll want to go. If he does then City will let him for the right price.

Equally if Kun says he wants to stay then he be sold no matter what the offer. The ball's in his court, but the fact he sought out a journalist to deliver his "i've got three months to help the team then we'll see what the club wants to do with me" suggests to me that there's much more to the story than just the usual paper talk. After all, his answer Sunday was a BIG change in tone and attitude from when he was last asked about his future and he said words to the effect of "i'm not going anywhere i'm really happy here and after I finish my contract here I'm going back to Argentina".
I believe the wheels are already in motion. I sensed this coming as soon as Pep was officially announced. Kun is the best striker we have ever had, but in this team with this manager he is our Rodney Marsh. If you get my drift. Factor in his boy lives in Madrid. Watch this space.....

All he said was he is happy and wants to stay, nothing wrong with that,he has put the ball in the clubs court

Nah, I don't think that's fair, you could just as easily say he walked down there and told them he's got 3 years on his contract and he wanted to stay (which he did). Could have been trying to Dispel the rumours.

The furore is about "The club will decide" which is just the stuff our players seemingly get coached to say.

"The club will always decide, unless the manager is talking in which case the player will always decide" could be the motto for our team under Pep. Pep are you getting rid of Yaya? Yaya will decide. Yaya will you leave? The club will decide!

Of course it's fair. Kun made the story by saying he will "work hard for three months and then see what happens".

I don't know why people are getting over excited by the story either. I'd have probably done the same thing in Kun's shoes if I was feeling a little unloved.

The one annoying thing is that this is now the story and not City continuing their good form.

Swap for Varane, Carvajal & Isco ?

I dont really think that the reports are out of line when you take into account the comments made by Sergio. I wouldnt say it was worse than, say, the speculation about Rooney leaving united.
