Someone Asked Me THE Question Last Night...

got asked on the phone by a client at work.

he was a rotheram fan and was surprised to hear i'd seen city play his side.

'Tell me how many times you've been to Old Trafford and I'll tell you how many years I've been a blue. Whoever says the highest number wins'.

Even if you've only been a blue for 1 year you should still win.

Never been asked, have a northern accent (not Manc) at work still have a pennant showing the old badge and a picture of Maine Road with the old standing Kippax and Main stand as it was with open corners. If I was asked I would probably say 0-0 against Leicester 1977.

I get it quite often as I don't have a manc accent.

I simply laugh at them.

Where are you from? Always presumed you were a local Lad.

It's not uncommon for me to get grilled by another Blue when I meet them for the first time. I left Manchester 6 years ago and my accent has mellowed a bit. However, I also tell people I work away as opposed to live away. It's just easier before that repulsive inverted snob suddenly appears in front of me.

Got asked several times during the season by opposing fans. Actually got pissed off a couple of times when I should have just taken the mickey. Thing is true answer goes back to the 60s so I don't really look the age of someone who has just switched teams.
