I suspect you could be right Bill.... trouble is nor will the Arabs.... they'll take a stroll to amother place... just on the outskirts of Manchester.

We are in the last chance saloon.... and it's your round.
Oh no another sleepless night now.................very much doubt that is our owners intentions scorer.

I really hope it is not... but if we dont get behind the club it would not surprise me

I would agree with this as well, it would be interesting to compare which team has the ages of squads, with regards to how long the players have been at the clubs, for the whole league. I bet ours would be the newest squad.

So why not give Mancini 3 and a half years and stop laying into him after 6 weeks?! honestly, it's now ingrained in the fans to call for the heads of the staff after bad results, it's a vicious circle and will only continue to hurt us as it has done for years unless we grow out of it.

Back Mancini, let him manage the club his way, give him the time and money he wants to get his own players, own squad and right the wrongs of Hughes reign. He's a proven top class manager, you can't argue with facts, and his transfer market past is mouth watering. It's just time we dropped that "typical city" attitude and grew up as a club, and as fans.

I think that is pretty much right.

The difference with Mancini is he has the proven track record. With Hughes it was all ifs and maybes.

Mancini is the right man for the job. People calling for his head after 2 months are just being stupid. I had doubts about Hughes from the start, but I always agreed with giving him a whole season at least before judging him.

Spent months disagreeing with you over Hughes but I think we're on the same page now !

Why do we insist on giving the rags all the ammunition to take the P*ss out of us. Just seen the following on facebook from a ragso the piss poor italian nigel havers lookalike **** posing in his scarf has already lost more games than hughes.....think a change of manager is needed at the boo camp!!! We continually shoot ourselves in the foot by creating instability around the club - the rags are laughing at some of our fans stupidity. Lets get things in reality we lost ONE game by the odd goal. Boateng hasn't scored in two years it was almost a one in a million shot. It was a bad day at the office nothing more.

Isn't it time we showed our loyalty and backed our manager through the ups and downs of a season, shrugged our shoulders dusted ourselves down and took the rag attitude that we will come back stronger ? Its not just the players that need that mentality its the fans too. We're in this together.

I think it's a vast mixture of many things all effecting players individually in different ways but then when they are together it adds up into one big problem!

The back four seems to be different every single week! it's any 4 from Richards Zabaletta Toure Lescott Boyata Onuoha Kompany Bridge Garrido Silvinho etc, I think there has been a combination of all of these players, especially recently due to injuries suspension or African Nations, and the area of the team which needs to be solid, cohesive and performing well every week simply are not! the inconsistency of the line up of the back four is feeding into the squad and effecting us!
With this is the fact we have a keeper that puts unnecessary added pressure on the random assembly of defenders in our team when they have to deal with every single cross that comes into the box! at times we look a shambles at the back!

I think with the potential for this club there may always be a culture within the squad, intrinsically, where players are thinking "will I be here next season?" "will the club buy a better player than me in the next transfer window?" and this is unhealthy!
With Hughes being sacked after just 18months and now Mancini coming in will the players be thinking "will this manager be here long?" "will I be part of his plans?" "what if the club sack this manager soon?" "will another new manager not like my style of play?" "how long will I be at this club?" "where is this club going REALLY!!?" and again this is not healthy!

This club needs stability! and I don't see stability in any part of this club so far! and stability has to be given time to build and we don't even know if this manager will be here past May! if we don't, the players don't, the club as a whole has this air of uncertainty surrounding it that although is excting, when it is stripped down and examined properly is actually very unclear in it's set-up and ongoing plans!
Look at Villa - you can see from afar that they have a clear set-up and ongoing plan that the club are willing to back a small group of men in a management team who want to build a team of committed, mainly young with the odd experienced player, mainly British, talented players who fit into a certain system and they are building a very good squad!
WHAT ARE WE DOING??? we sacked a manager after just 18months - what the fuck can a manager do in 18months!? Fergie and Wenger have clearly proven that it takes a number of years to get the right blend of players, the right formula, the right coaching styles etc before success can follow! yet every club up and down the country who have no success dint follow this plan at all! look at Liverpool, they were terrible at times earlier this season yet have stuck with their man and they seem to be pulling out of the mire and
coming good! with us we had a spell of poor performances yet got rid before the manager could redeem himself - he in fact won 4 out of 6 games in December before he was sacked! ANYWAY he's gone now and we can't change it and have to deal with it, but now with this manager there are roumours that he may be gone in the summer! personally I don't think this is a good business plan whatsoever!

We have a distinct lack of a big tall dominent fast strong technically good player in all areas of the pitch! we need one of these in nets, one of these as a centre back, one if these in the centre of midfield and possibly one of these to play up front although I don't personally think up front is a worrying area for us with the absolute quality of Tevez!
We need players who will bully opposing players, win headers even against big men (like Hull had!), stick their head in the way of a volley even if it will give them a broken nose for the good of the team, players who when the going is getting tough will drive the team
forward and take control - Terry Gerrard Rooney - we have noone!

We are many years off being where we want to be! I think everyones expectations have gone silly due to the amount of money we've spent, but if you look at our expenditure in realsitic terms you could slash it in half because the actual quality of our squad is not a squad worth £200million! and when you look at it like that you actually see a 5th/6th Prem Lg, Europa Lg, domestic cup semi-final quality squad!

To improve on that we need to give a manager a good 3or4 years to get a good squad of
players to fit into a certain style of play! this is a must! then with this stability there will be a better culture within the squad that breeds it's own stability, confidence, cohesion and we
will see a better future for MCFC than the current trajectory we seem to be follwong!!

(sorry for the long read!!)

Excellent read that and could I just add that our fans are also feeling the instability of the complete overhaul of the staff, owners and players leading to squabbles on here about which manager or player is best.

this has been going on and off since THE DAY JOE MERCER LEFT,they don,t need shrinks they need someone who sort them out, make life uncomfortable when they don,t pull their weight, but city have always bought players and then asked them to play a different roll when they arrive, joe never did that, a left winger was a LEFT F----G WINGER, THATS NOT SPORTS SCIENCE ITS COMMON F----G SENCE

Fuck me !! at last someone with a bit of common sense !!!
This has been our downfall for ages and Mancini is now doing the same.
Is eeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssssyyyyyyyyy say Mirkat.
Players the players in their best places.
Square pegs and round holes never made for one another !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree our main issue comes with the lack of stability at the back. We havent been able to settle on anything resembling a back line this season. I dont think Boyata and Zab are going to get us into the top 4, good backup but we need more certainty in our back 4 and we dont have it. Big shame Kompany picked up an injury as I think he would have provided some much needed confidence at the back. Too many loose clearances at the moment allowing the opposition to build pressure. I think our poor form at the back has made our midfield far too defensive minded and deep.

Settle the back 4, get the midfield formation right, let Tevez play the main striker role and we should start to fire.
