Oh good the doommongers can all get back in their boxes now

The report confirms this is nothing to do with his dead leg. The positive news is that he wants to be back for the derby.

Thank God.

From the off it has been reported that he was home for family reasons - why oh why this thread has so many posts is beyond me.

Because too many people are that used to things going wrong at the club they can't see anything other than more problems anymore.

They read something negative about the club/manager/players and think 'must be true, it's City and nothing ever goes right for us'

Were these stories about Lancashire CC and/or their players, who I'm guessing a lot of City fans keep an eye on rather than support, they would be rightly dismissed as tabloid crap and nonsense made up to fill pages. As it is they're about City and hit a nerve - common sense goes out of the window and the heckles are up.

I bet DD has all his fingers and toes crossed that Tevez never comes back, it'll only add to his tedious campaign of bullshit against our manager.

Nail on the head there sunshine. He must be gutted now the independent has so cruelly put things to bed.

Why not post a picture of your car or girlfriend, mate?

You haven't done that for a while ;-)

Said yesterday the club need to clear this up quickly and decisively and they appear to have done just that - good news . Those gutter hacks will be pissed off - until Mon anyway ;)

The Independent.
Mancini will today publicly address the issue of Carlos Tevez's stay in Argentina, which has been extended because of City's departure to Poland to face Lech Poznan, rather than his inability to fly while suffering a dead leg that is still causing him pain. Tevez's travel to and from Argentina is by private jet, allowing him as much room to stretch and lie down as he wishes, so, contrary to some suggestions, the transit is not a problem.

Tevez was due to have flown to Manchester on Monday but City told him there was no point as the club's medical staff would be departing for Poland today. Tevez's representatives view that as a positive gesture on the club's part and it certainly does not point to grave concerns on Mancini's part about the fitness of his most important player. It is understood that Tevez is desperate to face Manchester United next Wednesday, though City – who will assess him on Friday – will be unwilling to give many clues as to his fitness before then, to retain an element of surprise.

Tevez is under the care of the Argentina national team doctor, who has treated him on City's behalf in the past, and he will now fly back from Argentina tomorrow, arriving later that day or early on Friday, when he will be assessed.
The decision to allow Tevez to leave in the first place is based on personal circumstances which have kept him apart from his two daughters. Tevez and his long-term partner, Vanesa, were separated last spring and she now lives with her parents, which explains why the children remain at such a distance from him. Tevez is very close to his eldest daughter Flopy and has seen very little of the younger child, Katie, whose difficult and premature birth led to another extended absence from the UK for Tevez last season.

Quack quack quack eh Dave.

Tell you what, rather than starting this kind of pathetic thread, laced with your shitty agenda, why don't you try some support instead (of City, not Rooney this time).

Yep. I'm happy with Kidd's comments.

and I'm delighted he's back for the derby. That's all that matters.

Why do you bother....you don't contribute anything to any discussion. You just turn up, shine that bright light down from your perch high atop moral high ground hill, and properly slag off fellow City supporters just because you don't like their opinions.

I admit to giving it out to you earlier in the week...but I was drunk and frankly, you're becoming about as tedious as you accuse DD of being...

Bollocks. My only crime is to not give time or credence to posters who have a paper thin agenda against the manager. I've never been pro or anti Mancini as I find that sort of stuff tragically pointless.

Your support for DD and PB is pretty lame, you don't like Mancini for whatever reason and you attack anyone who dares to suggest that any of the 3 of you could be even a little bit wrong.

You just come across as a nob to honest mate.

I'm all for debate but I know better than to debate with you, DD or PB due to the nasty nature of each of your characters.

You lot always seem most active when the shit is hitting the fan, the glee is both repugnant and quite laughable really.
love your last 4 lines, spot on.

That's what I thought.

It was never about him going to Argentina for treatment, it was always about him going back to visit his family.

So why the panic?
