Yep you did see that it was part of a film of him in America doing the David Live tour, if I remember rightly the song he related the process was Moonage daydream. Please don't stone me if I got all that wrong.I seem to remember seeing a documentary on David Bowie years ago in which it showed him writing a song by writing single lines of lyrics on small pieces of paper, then randomly rearranging the papers to make the song.
