I can’t see how he could do much better than OGS because:

Not only are the players shite, they aren’t even shite versions of the sort of players Pep could work with.

Huge job. Forget us/bin dippers for now. Look at Spuds. How many of the rags best 11 would get in spuds best 11. Not very many for me... GK probably, none of their defence would. I wouldn’t have Pogba anywhere near a team so none of the midfield then and Kane/son are better than anything the rags currently have up top.

Then you factor in the contracts situation, it’s a huge mess.... love it

All of the underlying stats said they shouldn't be winning when they were on their streak, and they had some incredible luck, favours from the referees and smaller teams just losing their nerve.

The biggest factor was probably that 6 of his first 7 games were against sides in the bottom 7 of the table. The other was Spurs when De Gea made something like 15 saves in the second half.

They played well at Chelsea their 2nd best performance imo, was last night.

I think he is struggling now. Probably a decent chap for a red. Utd are in a predicament now. They will have to gamble and back him and that could be their ultimate undoing. He may be the one that leads them into the abyss.

I'm not sure they played well, but they were better than they were against the blue dippers - but that's not really saying much.
And therein lies one of the many many issues they have to address: when they are poor they are like a pub team, when they are good they are like a bottom-half championship team.
